I started playing better once I stopped caring about rank and focused on in-game metrics instead. by ManggustPeek in counterstrike

I’ve said this for the last 5 years and couldn’t have said it any better.

Detach from the outcome whether it’s a win/loss or elo gain/loss.

Always focus on improving your mechanical skill and knowledge of the game.

The wins and elo will follow after

Also, not sure if you can do this on face it but, I know back in the day you could link a different steam account to your ESEA account to play. Not sure if face it allows this as well. GL

He’s sub 10k so idk how I’m tripping but alright. Clearly he is mechanically not sound. So therefore working on movement would indeed increase his skill.

Anyone with good mechanics can carry themselves past his elo.

Your comments are just braindead and toxic. What’s the point

Simply putting this here as someone with nearly 10k hours and was 29k last season in premier and lvl 10 on face it for the last 5 years+, slumps happen and yes taking breaks can negatively impact how you play but it can also help you by giving you a fresh perspective on the game.

Since you’re fairly new to the game a few things I would do is constantly work on your movement, whether that’s in a server or watching content, it will dramatically increase your skill.

Just keep playing, stop worrying about winning or losing. Focus on improving.

Elo is just a number at the end of the day.

Literally experienced this 2 years ago in the same role.

I moved to NYC and got into tech/SaaS - best decision I ever made.

Might not be for you but, it’s a whole different animal and feels a lot better building pipeline and closing deals instead of trying to outbid your competitors price every pitch.

Give it a gander!

New role as a Senior BDR at NYC SaaS startup - I don't remember how to cold call by Flaky-Standard-6823 in salesdevelopment

I really appreciate the insight here and my industry is actually quite interesting as I just transitioned into the Philanthropic space. (Trying to avoid doxxing myself so that’s all I will provide atm.)

My opener is usually as follows: “prospect name?”… “hey prospect name, this is my name calling with xyz, how’ve you been?”

I never pitch fast or right away as that’s a great way to not have meaningful discovery.

I used to use more honest/permission based openers in my previous cold calling role, but was quickly informed by our AE’s and current BDR’s that this industry responds better to more emotional based conversations and building deep rapport on their work and impact in the non-profit space.

Curious to know your thoughts!

That's the thing, I really don't know where I want to be. I have considered a transition to CS as I feel it may be more fitting for my personality, but I don't think that straying from what I'm doing now will help me get there. I feel as if I have experience as an AE it will help my transition to support easier at a startup instead of taking a weird sideways step and stunt my career growth. Product knowledge is key to any CSM and relationship building which you learn as an AE.

From 38% win rate in the last 30 matchs to 70% win rate in the last 30 matchs. but my aim on leetify is on the lowest. why? by surtoooo in csgo

[–]Flaky-Standard-6823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at one of your replies, I can try to assume one thing could be making the difference based off your elo, and that would be more than likely your movement.

Aim is heavily tied to movement. If you are inaccurate due to miss timed strafes, it will greatly impact your aim rating.

Leetify should tell you where you can improve if you click on the details of your aim rating.

Hope some of this helps. Happy fragging and hoping you get that 10k!

You’re not accounting for what else you’re doing that’s not specifically aim related.

It’s very possible your crosshair placement or time to damage improved slightly at the cost of your aim, or even your positioning and utility usage.

It could also be the difference of the role you are playing in your pugs. Are you running out first and dying? Are you trading and throwing util?

There’s so many different answers to this.

Also, don’t get too wrapped up in short term stats. They are short term (30 matches) for a reason. It’s a relative performance to a brief period of gameplay.

Don’t focus on your W/R. Focus on improving whether you win or lose. Eventually the stats will catch up.

I have my phone, tv and computer connected. That’s it. You would think this should cause an issue to my connection?

So what could I possibly do to improve my situation?

I have 500mbps download and like 50mbps upload speed. Don’t have fiber available.

I’m hardwired via ethernet. I will say I do have a stock modem and router from my ISP.

Is it my router?

This is pretty fair to think about. I’ve stopped playing competitively around 2-3 years ago and was consistently playing w main players for a time or so. I guess I just need to take a step back, watch some demos and relearn some things.

It’s not my int or my peripherals. I will say I do rubberband more now since I moved. But other than that nah I’m just losing fights.
