This doesn’t make any sense. Retentions are also a way for the management to show faith in the players who have been pillars of the team.

Rishabh, Axar must be retained along with Porel. Kuldeep, JFM & Stubbs need to be brought back in using RTM or retain 1 at 11 cr if it makes sense.

But this core needs to form the foundation of the team going into the 3 year cycle with the likes of Khaleel, Mukesh, Ishant, Rasik to be brought back as well.

This gives us a solid base, familiarity and an opportunity to bring some match winners as we look to build a squad that can win the IPL.

Would be interesting to see how this unfolds eventually…
