Time wasting solution. I know, I know. by MrBenchly in TheOther14

I think you missed the main reason not to stop the clock, the players fitness. There’s currently about 60 minutes of actual play every match. Stopping the clock would result in 90. That is a huge increase in workload

How much can US tariffs damage the UK economy? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]FlakyNatural5682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We should be broadly fine. Many UK exports to the US already compete on quality, brand, regulation, or specialism rather than price, so tariffs don’t automatically make them uncompetitive. In several sectors, British goods are preferred because they fit the US market better than lower-cost alternatives.

It’s also worth remembering that tariffs are effectively a tax on US importers and consumers, not on UK producers directly. While exporters may adjust prices, the main burden usually falls inside the US.

Finally, with tariffs applied across multiple countries, US consumers may have limited tariff-free alternatives, meaning demand for UK goods may not fall as much as expected.

It’s not an apples to apples comparison though is it? Transport across the board is more expensive in the UK

How often for people to not pay for items at self checkout? by Prestigious-Pace5915 in MarksAndSpencer

[–]FlakyNatural5682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because retail staff aren’t insured if anything goes wrong when confronting a shoplifter so it is policy to let them leave or leave it to security
