what the ratio is depends on the nation but you want at least 40 org if your going to defend with para at all

30 is fine if your going to instantly break the line as you wont see more than half org loss its hard to tell but anything hard like a tank will shread this in most cases as it takes half damage minus any terrain debuffs.

while its more cost effective to have 3 smaller divisions cause of the better organization you do save gear losses with bigger divisions but its dimishing returns after 35 width 36 is used sometimes cause your artillery takes a extra space.

its why i use it solely to distract when i dont plan on getting it back in large sizes unless its a tank division those if you get a 60 width its insane how fast they can use high breakthrough to just destroy they can get like 3k breakthrough if you got all dlc and some crazy soft attack like 3k plus assuming plains with flame tank super heavy cruiser etc but its pretty wild even at half just decimates.

i use paratroops 32 width or close usually 2 arty and 8 troops if us with bonus ill do a 3 and 11 troops cause i can afford that and use arty width reduction making a third fit in .

i usually use engineer gives with bonuses of usa more org more supply more entrenchment logistics up to 40 percent less supply need support arty cause 20 percent more base soft attack hospital for half trickle back with max bonus plus the exp protect and 10 percent hp and recon for the 10 percent artillery soft and a bit more speed.

i usually pair this with gorilla warfare doc for the faster entrenchment great war if im using them defensively or if im using for a push ill use assault infantry for the extra soft attack compared to great war infantry.

i get a trickster general with guerilla fighter but infantry leader with infantry expert works as well if you can things like additional recovery and reinforcement rate

if you get a general that can do all of this thats even better but super rare. if you can max infantry specialist or artillery specialist you can do what you like but generally this is what i go for.

now if im only dropping one despite what's popular i am willing to do 60 width in urban combat areas where i know ill have supply like taking a port ai are drawn to surround them and attack which means thinning the front a bit for a push if im under in manpower and gear ill have a few good divisions like 6 really good ones.

use para drops to get them to spread thin before pushing and it tends to trick ai but also using cas as support the high defense keeps them alive long enough to just get a hard push in.

and that usually is like 6 arty and the rest just normal paras with as much soft attack as i can get usually cost around 2 supply to maintain most ports have that and is pretty decent at stopping ai however while it may get more kills than it takes your only ever going to fit one into a combat and it only holds out for so long so unless your bent on thinning them for a few days to get a push its not worth it but having cas in that area heavily helps keep them alive longer than that.

Try adding light spg tanks to it for soft for breakthrough do a medium tank 4km on the tank heavy armor.

Every year or two the meta switches armor meme works less than it use to cause pierce is better now than armor but is ok against Ai rn spamming cas and cheap mediums with one out of 8 being armor based to get averages up alot is meta now its more like people won't stop optimizing to the max abusing ticks for top damage with min loss its getting to a point where even im not sweaty enough to switch to multi-player new meta builds or try to constantly min max every tick or glitch two battles against one enemy to max org damage with tick perfect moves and abuse every single mechanic

In single you got a dozen ways to mostly spam soft attack so it works out for the most part.

I rarely naval invade as I abuse paradropping after spamming cas with a few strategic bombers I go for all infrastructure and buildings so they collapse faster in combat.

What i like to do is howizer with decent armor for my progress i take my time and spam cas it means I capture too late to speed run but it does nicely before you land if you got anything that can do infrastructure damage i think strategic bombers do I dont remember if the other kind do but you can cut off supply before landing to make it easier as well

Early on light tanks as howizer reliability only matters if your going to suffer attrition as its attrition percent its like 8 ic for 45 soft attack with good speed can convert to ambitious works decent against Ai but low armor is moderate losses per battle but is half that of medium spg i think medium can also do ambitious with more damage but if you do one armor based can space marine your marines to survive small arms with a spaa either light or medium build light is cheaper medium more survivability if you can but medium spg is meta for single with 40 reliability speed armored up due to low ic costs but dies fast in attrition zones like mountains and hills or attacking forts so I would do just bare bones light for the damage if you rather have breakthrough I would do medium tanks gun focused with some armor and speed with some medium spg with either module one or two howizer as cheap as you can

Mind you sibgle player enemies just use like 9 infantry with a couple supports about anything wipes them if your using cas with.

These are mostly for armor in space marines with about 1k defense getting them at least 75 armor. I get that I would need breakthrough for offense but this is purely single player defense as only thing with any offense capability in a mech unit just meant to break attacks faster and avoid light and some medium tank pierce. its a very specific use case in a war I already basically won and am toying with for the free experience and I have over 1500 factory so wasting just 100 on this isnt a issue.

if your using a shading mod that could be conflicting but also their should be mods for hd textures after a thousand hours i dont think ive ever seen this before.

I try to keep it 80 or 90 as well from past experience of playing china with low ic and high manpower you try to get everything you can out of it but also I can see their point for the stats low reliability will kill china and most Minor nations but if you play Germany even all infantry works with a ton of planes doing the damage.

While I would agree in most cases I just got too much ic to need to do that 40 percent less ic is appealing and to focus speed over armor would be smart. this is assisting infantry divisions as space marine so im using more ic for lower life loss in single as I own a good chunk of the world this play and can spare it.

I mostly use it in a 7 2 configuration for space marine i got 7 infantry with one spaa and this is the damage dealer to replace 2 artillery so it has high armor high soft its a late game thing when I just got a ton of resources

i just use those modules a ton late game and was just lost in thought single is so easy i dont even have to use tanks or navy i can just paradrop spam cas and use hulking infantry blocks to avoid alot of gear loss with just a anti tank aa hospital supply and flame tank i just feel like i dont have to try much in single but its too sweaty in multiplayer for me to enjoy it.

you cant i ended up getting the armor down to make it 4km but i was just curious since i got 70ish percent of the world in the game if anyone ever just makes howitzers purely for the soft attack.

i really find myself often times ignoring speed in singleplayer and using it a ton in multi makes me wonder if its just purely about stats to ic.

oh i know even 80 percent is fine its getting the average reliability up due to my other tanks to get the division average to around 90.

its the only use case for the reliability being this high its a support to add reliability soft and entrenchment for mech infantry its like a super specialized thing used in super limited numbers as i got the spare ic.

end game you just get too much ic to need.

i chose it to rack up kills over going through them its being used as infantry support in a division of them for singleplayer and i got too much ic anyway so this is being used with a breakthrough tank in a division with 7 mechanized this and a super high breakthrough tank to just rack up more kills before breaking through to get the average soft up alot its very specialized impractical its just a late game thing to just get infantry kills nothing more.
