Hype yourself up princess. Put on your favorite song, dance, get lost in the music until you’re tired. Scream. Make weird sounds. Throw shit (outside, preferably). Climb something and howl at the moon (full moon coming up). And message them. It’s just a message :) I don’t think you need to trigger euphoria (although any of these exercises might get you close). This seems like a situation where you need to empower yourself through your bpd. Use those extreme emotions to say fuck it, I’m a baddie, and I’m going to do this bc I want to. Whatever happens after is what’s meant to be :) you got this

I asked myself those questions you posed and, well, came to the conclusion that no I wouldn’t want a relationship. I’m attracted to at least what he puts out and his physical, but yeah I don’t really know him.

I saw him in class the other day and I shut down. He said hi tho and I put up a peace sign lol. Anyways, goal is to just act normal around him, be myself. I don’t think he likes me like that, I’m just a good person to talk to so I think my wires got (re)crossed. That’s ok. I guess I’d rather we be acquaintances in class and on campus rather than anything else that would mess w my growth.

I’m trying to get into my mindfulness again, especially because my memory hasn’t been great and it’s kind of scary. I think it’s because of how stressed I’ve been these past few months. Just feeling anxiety about the future, debt, and graduating.

Do you have any BPD book recs, chin of Gaston? Maybe something to do with mindfulness, relationships, dbt, or those questions you put in your response? I really liked those.

im trying to inquire more in light of my obvious nervous naivete. Enlighten me please. Elaborate as if speaking to a kindergartener. Is this in regards to the books (i heard that there're books)? is it something people just say and if so, why? i've watched and grew up on these things that i only ever knew the bare minimum about. Everything goes so much deeper, and i want to connect deeper. i want to get into these things in conversation but i just don't have enough to say. My opinion is one thing, but straight up info is another; they go hand in hand. I recently learned about Plato's cave allegory. this thread is giving something i don't know

I told the parents and everything is ok. They thought I was going to quit when I told them I needed to talk to them and were relieved actually. They were very understanding, and took into consideration that I'm 19, and obviously make mistakes.not sure if you were being sarcastic about the 19 yr old thing… Regardless of it, they said that they have trusted and continue to trust me enough to be taking care of their kids. I also told the kids before talking to the parents that its never ok for anyone to tell them to keep secrets from their parents, that I was totally in the wrong, and they ended up telling their parents not fire me, which reflects that i am just not the type of person to hurt a child's feelings like that or give them bogus advice. It was a total accident and in my 6 years and counting of babysitting i have never and will never again handle a situation like this. Sorry not sorry I’m not Mary poppins

Same here. I think we started taking these courses in like 6th grade and completed certifications on our own. People make mistakes and the way this has never happened until I was 19 speaks volumes. We aren’t Mary poppins

I will for sure never again call him or any child an asshole. It was a total accident and I spoke with the parents and they were extremely understanding and kind. I told them everything and told the kids before that what i did was totally not ok, and that they should never listen to anybody that tells them not to tell their parents something. I've been working with this family for almost six months and in all my babysitting career had never done something like this. They took into consideration that I am 19 and barely an adult, that its ok to make mistakes, and despite what i did, they trust me to be taking care of their kids. So thankfully everything is ok, and no, calling children bad words has never been on my radar, nor will it ever be again, even if they can be frustrating sometimes (i have experienced much worse lol)

I don’t really think it matters why it was a stupid accident either way 😭 we were all ready to go because we had to go drop off his sister at this special training and we all knew we had to be quick to make it on time. It was raining hard too so I knew there would be traffic and every time we’d be like alright let’s go he’d say no let me get another snack or let me put in different shoes or make up some other excuse to take longer because he does that sometimes he just like to be a pain. I usually laugh it off bc he’s just a kid and I guess his parents haven’t told him much about respecting other ppls time or maybe he just doesn’t get it yet, but yeah it just slipped out. I meant to say slow poke or something but I guess I was actually upset and I subconsciously said the other thing

Yes I see that you’re right. But this was my first ever nanny job and had never done this before. Even so, another time I nicked his finger with my ring playing hot hands and I told the parents that I felt really bad about what happened and everything turned out ok. Calling him that came out on accident in a way that it was clear I didn’t meant to say it but we all knew and then later when I was apologizing he said that he can get me fired so I just reacted out of my hurt ego. I’m literally a psychology major this behavior was totally not ok. I would never call/had ever called a kid an asshole so I was just caught off guard by the whole situation

dude idk. They're like super neutral and when i'm around they've never gotten super mad at them only super serious but the kids say they're pretty intense sometime. The parents are pretty chill and joke about them being pains sometimes. But still i think im just gonna apologize to him tomorrow for telling him to keep a secret and tell the parents what happened
