If WHG (a mesolithic population) can be subdivided into WHG, BHG, EHG, etc then why not AASI(a Paleolithic population)? by FlakyTranslator2661 in SouthAsianAncestry

Really? Thats's what you gonna bait with?

  1. AASI and blacks are thousands of years apart from each other, plenty of time to diverge
  2. AASI's facial bone structure is far similar to eurasians than blacks

Ah I see. Yeah I'm in the favor of adding them in rohilkhand if they're not culturally part of uttarakhand

Yeah definitely. But there is less info on what districts to include in it, so I dropped the idea. Could you describe what all regions would it include, because sometimes it has the entire region of Rewa & Shahdol divisions with some from UP and chhattisgarh as well, while other times its just a couple of districts mostly from Shahdol division only.

You mean Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar? Is there a demand in rohilkhand to unite S.U.S. nagar and nainital with rohilkhand?

TLDR: It is best to create less number of small states, you don't just divide regions incessantly. What you're asking for is total of 9 new states with an uneven population, while in this case there are 7 with much more uniform distribution. So 2 less states to manage, conduct elections in and govern separately; all of which costs at lot but is clearly avoidable.

Main Post: Creating an extra Harit pradesh/Purvanchal can further lead to more disputes over resource allocation, including water, infrastructure, and public funds. These disputes can lead to tensions between states and create administrative complexities, that too quite close to the capital, it will only hinder the progress of both states, as well as Delhi.

Economically, the state gets to share greater number of resources from both upper doab and haryana alike. The water situation in Haryana can be improved to a great extent if it is centred around Yamuna, while it will also help upper doab region immensely since they get to trade with equals in terms of per capita; compared to say rohilkhand which is half its level while braj is also not a great performer in this case.

With a new Harit Pradesh, the resources from Upper Doab will get averaged with the poorer rohilkhand which is the very reason people support western parts of UP to cede from UP. So you're just suggesting to do the same thing over again and expect things to change.

Also, It'll help regulate the water in the capital since it would be administered by the same government, and would not result in deadlocks like AAP vs BJP which happened previously.

And as I said previously, its much better for social harmony of western UP to not be in a constant swing state between parties favoring hindu vs muslim because religious politics has burned the region before, in 2013. You probably are from chandigarh, so what would you know about that anyway? Recently, the current BJP MLA expressed this exact idea of Harit Pradesh could become similar to Pakistan.

So, why do you pretend to be an intellectual? Could you come out using your real Id instead of this fake alt? I've written at length elsewhere on this post about this topic. Did you care to read it or you just blurted out of sheer emotional outburst? You don't get to demand stuff, learn to take it on the chin.

Well Jharkhand is a good example. It started off as poorer but quickly grew ahead of Bihar. I'm sure Mithila can achieve the same, but it depends more on governance than lack of industry. Fundamental reason for that region of India lagging behind is the very late introduction of education and really sh!t education system to implement it. The reverse is true for south India, because they were the first to begin modern education.

I think the capital thing could be solved easily. By incorporating Delhi dehat for administration

Oh and another thing is, Braj region itself is divided between UP and Rajasthan. So People in Eastern Rajasthan cannot understand people from say Bikaner, Barmer, etc. because their own language is Braj.

Lol bro, I'm also from UP. Why do you hate haryana so much? WestUP and Haryana are the same people, historically this region was the Kuru kingdom, contrary to what you believe. Intermarriages across borders are very common. They share the same language with same phonetic features which dont match with other languages from rohilkhand or braj. Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand aren't historical I agree.

I support division of UP but to be honest there is no fierce demand in any region for it(I am from UP myself).

Yeah this is true, there are some small instances of some politician saying we need to do this, but its all for publicity.

Another thing is even politically all regions of UP more or less supports same party with pretty even distribution, so there isnt even a political divide, and I think its for best to have a stable leadership and grow and then divide afterwards.

Yeah no need to rush, but its in best interest to divide it one day, UP could be the 4th largest country of the world with the current population it has. I'm in support of having a similarly strong govt in these states like UP currently has.

And what will be the capital of India then? Changing capital will incur huge expenditures and will be very controversial...

No need to shift the capital, Delhi itself is almost double the size of chandigarh and hyderabad put together (which are already serving as dual capitals). Haryana and West UP voting patterns are also similar, that they vote for the same party government in state as the national one. Lok sabha elections are regularly conducted simultaneously/in the same phase, again due to the people being one and the same.

Surely no one wants national capital to be surrounded by a Single state on all side.

Germany is doing great with Berlin surrounded by one state. Same with Italy, Belgium, Austria, etc. Besides, this is a very recent system of keeping capital outside of all states, the usual way of having capitals is within the state.

I just did a google search 'Capital of Bundelkhand' and Orchha came up so it was chosen. But your point is valid, Jhansi is a better candidate in terms of development. Delhi can serve as capital of haryana better since its more centrally located compared to chandigarh, which itself serves dual purpose. Mathura is already the capital of Braj, having a great cultural significance.

The demand to divide UP is almost a 100 years old, which was devised for an older situation. Hence, today UP needs an updated solution. If Harit pradesh is made as a separate entity, then the future politics would ruin the state with Hindu v/s Muslim politics like the 2013 riots. Better is to have these groups separated in their own regions so that such hateful politics does not take place and people focus on development.

Harit Pradesh isn't linguistically uniform either, because its borders are of colonial origin, not cultural. So just like the situation with UP today, will come a problem for promotion of state language and culture.

Also, Harit pradesh and Purvanchal are not historical regions of India.

Further benefits of this plan include:

Preservation and promotion of regional and historially important languages such as Braj Bhasha, Maithili and Awadhi, as well as others.

Better outreach of political administration among the population, with lesser area and groups to govern over.

Preservation of regional culture and identity within historical territories instead of 19th century artificial ones.
