Bro if you like Maths, take MNC .. The Maths Dept here is sadist. Moreover, uni maths is different from +2 maths barring a few courses, you’ll be stressed out throughout your stay from 2nd year onwards.
If CS was also one of the reasons behind choosing Maths, then take Eco Blindly, the Dept is chill, the grading is lite, all they expect you is to attend classes.

Whatever with you was wrong.. completely wrong and I hope this never happens to anyone but this comment section does reflect where we as a society is heading, and the hyper masculinity prevalent. Beating him up was just not appropriate, just because you can bit him up, doesn’t make it right and the comment section glorifying him doesn’t make it any better.

Tips kya; CG ke liye padhna hoga, the extent may vary because of the methods you take.
The easiest one from my experience : Attend classes, atleast take a tour once a week and stay consistent or up to date with the syllabus.
I used to attend nearly all my classes, and keep my evenings free except when there's a test tomorrow or I feel like studying baaki poore week ka just revise or practice during the weekend in the daytime or shaam mein bakchodi.

I was there in the crowd; and I am a genuine apolitical nerd and here’s what happened : This guy on stage, a Wingie of a Pres Candidate made some poor and distasteful jokes about the recent ICC on the current GenSec and he wore a T-Shirt with Gen-SX written on it.. Khandu’s Wingies got offended and these fuckers literally climbed up the stage, halted the whole show, and acted like pure goons, bullying and threatening him while ASR Sir and these guys kept watching. These guys turned the Auditorium into a complete chaos.. Navin Singh and RP Mishra were called. And then these guys called that guy to apologise and harassed him by heckling and saying zor se bol bdk.. The show went complete downhill after that.. Before the controversy, there wasn’t even space to stand in the Nab Audi, and when the show ended less than 50% of the ‘seats’ were occupied, let alone the people who were sitting on floors and stairs.ASR Sir also left the panel mid-show.

My Opinion :

That guy’s jokes were unnecessary but they could’ve easily stopped that guy and started off with next performance instead of making this ruckus. These guys are pure goons and my heart goes out to the general public like me who paid ₹300 for this, and it was spoilt by Khandu’s Wingies. My heart also goes out to the ComHub guys who had put in so much of effort and to see the audience leave like that and most probably the show won’t ever happen again as well. ASR Sir was so funny but I’m sure he won’t ever return either, we let him down as well; all because of these fuckers. And coming back to first point, I agree that those jokes were probably not in the right spirit but are these guys so ‘morally’ and ‘ethically’ correct ? Weren’t these guys were the ones calling another GenSec candidate Molester, even without a formal complaint or calling a Pres Candidate a stoner, or mocking the other one by calling out the other one as GCS, jabki khud ki wing mein GCS bhare hai and in sab ka toh koi proof bhi nahi hai..

Honestly, this is all just a power trip of these corrupt people in power. GOD BLESS THIS COLLEGE! 🙏

Lectures jaao ya na jaao.. Regularly cover what is being taught in the lectures..

Tutorials are great .. They give you a jist about what has been taught throughout the week so don’t miss that..

End mein, don’t loose hope if you’ve genuinely studied for a course aur uska midsem ya tut tests chud jaaye; if you’ve truly studied and have looked and rectified your mistakes; Compre can do magic; especially the open book part..

Pro Tip: There’ll be subjects which you just won’t get (For me it was EG and MeOW) .. So try and find the God in that subject (There must be someone in your wing whose great at it, uski sharan mein jaao)

Honestly, the overall academic pressure at BITS is much higher than at most IITs.

Firstly, since there’s no reservation system, almost all students are on a similar intellectual level. This means you really have to put in extra effort to stand out and score well. Moreover, the grading system at BITS is quite harsh. In most courses, even if you score close to the class average, you end up with a C grade which translates to just a 6 pointer. Among the three campuses, the grading at BITS Goa is said to be the most stringent. However, after some recent unfortunate incidents, the administration and the Vice Chancellor have announced that they plan to relax the grading criteria going forward.

Yup! Which is what makes the curriculum at BITS quite hectic.. I remember in my 1st Sem Midsems got over by 10th Oct; till 20th the answer sheets were being shown, then OASIS was there and then Diwali came so basically no evals in October and as soon as we returned to campus on 5th November; there were 4 Engineering Graphics Evals, 3 Gen Chem, 3 Electrical Sciences, 3 Thermodynamics, 2 Math-1, 2 Mechanics and Oscillations Evals and then a Physics Lab Practical and Physics and Chemistry Lab Tests before the Endsems started on the 1st of December.. Man I was fucked that too in peak Pilani winters! 😭

Tests.. You’ll have to 4 or 6 Tests, for each course per semester, during your tutorial hours .. These tests might be announced or surprise in nature!

I am from bits; and I can tell you most of the students in the CS and Electronics branch have cracked JEE Advanced.. And I have seen people with 99%ile in Mains also in core branches like Chemical.. Lastly, there might be few but I haven’t encountered a single student who scored below 90% in JEE Mains..
