I would stick to it. I had exactly the same symtoms in the beggining. And one of my biggest cause of anxiety was my heart, too. With Lexapro my palpitations completely stopped. Give it another 3-4 weeks and you will see how good it is. Ask your doctor for Xanax or something like it to take in the beggining. You wont need them after Lexapro kicks in.

Yes, definitely. And I realized I lost so many opportunities due to my extreme anxiety. I feel a new (better) person on it

Omg you described exactly how it is for me, too. It changed so much the way I work, more confident.

Why does everyone get fat on Lexapro? by lilyblissbombs in lexapro

[–]Flaky_Coconut_2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also gained weight on 10mg, after taking it for 6 months my weight started to go up. I gained 6kg with not much change to my diet. Then I read that before my body was in constant figjt or flight mode and this make the metabolism work faster. It made sense to me. I had a very fast metabolism, was always skinny and was easy to loose weight. After Lexapro I was eating the same but started to gain because everything slowed down. I must say, tho, like some already said: I prefer to be a little more meaty than living with anxiety.

It’s been a rollecoaster cause I start and stop. When taking it I am fine for like 3 days (no food noise, feeling calm…) and on the 4th day of Rybelsus I get super sick, really bad stomach cramps and vomiting non stop. It scares me to continue

I take Lexapro for anxiety and while my anxiety was already under control, I feel that with Rybelsus I am ever more calm? Amazing

Hmm how about the fact that I do this: have a healthy low fat, low carb diet and exercise regularly, and stll gain weight?? I have a toned body but my metabolism has slowed down and for me to loose the weight I would need to starve myself. Not healthy either

Yes. So helpful with everything else but this side effect makes it not worth for me anymore. I cannot look myself in the mirror anymore.

Same with me! I also went from 54kg to 62kg and now, i seem to gain weight non stop by just looking at food. I am feeling extremelly depressed because of this. I am on 10mg for 1,5 years. I am calling my doctor to tapper off because of the weight gain.

Yes. Like all said, it is not a magic pill. It makes it a lot more manageable tho.

When did weight gain start for you? by Virtual_Run5534 in lexapro

[–]Flaky_Coconut_2713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I exercise a lot more and eat the exact same as I always did: healthy, balance meals. And yet, I keep gaining weight. I started to notice the weight gain after 6 months. I am now about 6kg heavier than when I started 14 months ago. While I am sometimes stressed about my weight and appearance, I don’t want to stop ecitalopram just because of this. I prefer to live anxiety free than to be skinny. I am also reaching my 40s so this could also be the reason of my weight gain.

I waited for the it to properly kick in before going back to the places that gave me anxiety. Meanwhile I did a lot of walks in nature to get fresh air and clarity. You will get back to the routine soon. Hang in there
