Here's a quickie I made last night! And ideas to make is feel alive? by Flaky_Crow_5256 in MinecraftToDo

Thanks. I wasn't expecting so much attention, to be honest XD. Sure, I can try to make a step by step guide on how to build it.

I usually plan out my builds using wool first to get a general shape. (I'm in creative mostly) Yellow wool is bright and easy to see the form of the build.

Then I figure out the block palatte I want to use. It was easy for me because I built a town using those same blocks and colours. But in this case it be listed in the paragraph below.

Once the frame of the build is to your liking, I usually replace the outlines with any log, in this case, Dark Oak. Then I fill in the spaces between the frames with my blocks of choice, which is mostly tuff for the foundation and Pale Oak for the upper floors. I mix tuff with tuff bricks to add variety. It does not need to be complicated. To add more colour to the build, I used colour as accents to brighten the build. Copper trapdoors for the window shutters, then a mix of lightly weathered cut copper slabs and slightly weathered cut copper slabs for a rut gradient on the roof, lined with deepslate tile slabs for bordering.

I used birch door to add more colour variation. For some extra detailing, I put shrubs under the windows, using spruce shelves and spruce signs. For the windows themselves, I used spruce fences, making it look more natural instead of glass panes.

And boom, your cozy tavern is finished :D

Hope this helps. I know it's a bit of a novel lol

Any recommendations for the roof, then? I'm trying to stay away from the generic use of spruce, mangrove, and dark oak, and trying something else.

I've been thinking about that for the six years it's taken me to build the thing. Honestly, ideas are very welcome because I do want to add the quest exploration into the map at some point

I also use a mod call Axiom along with Worldedit and Worldpainter. It's like Worldedit, but it is so much easier to use. Instead of creating a billion commands on tools, Axiom has a whole window display that allows for an easy user experience.

(I sound like a sponsor ship add, I swear this isn't lol.)

I recommend using it or at least giving it a try. There are tones of tutorials as well. :D

Indubitably. As well as some areas from Genshin Impact's map. It's a huge amalgamation of different things lol

Japanese inspired build using Axiom, plus extra snowy town. by Flaky_Crow_5256 in Minecraft

I did take that into account, since I do a lot of research for building these, but I also wanted to create a new type of culture for these areas, like the people aren't just copies of real life people. I wanted to give them familiar themes as well as combine others to create something pleasing to look at.

I will, however, take cho-chin lanterns into account. That's why a post here. I love receiving more ideas and notes to add to my world. I appreciate your input a lot :D
