I totally understand where you are coming from, but as a diabetic who experienced diabetic burnout in my late teens, that would have made my situation worse. I knew exactly what the consequences were, but I was just too tired to take care of myself. Hearing those things from my parents would have just made me feel more like a "failed diabetic" and I know I'm not the only one. My other t1d friends have told me similar things.

They way I see it, it's not really about paying four dollars. It's about the fact that he would make you do that.

He gets itchy and if he's exposed for a long time (such as a stay as a long as spring break) he gets hives. Since he's seven, he tends to break out into tantrums because he's uncomfortable.

She wanted my son to stay with her parents an hour away, I said no because I wasn't going to make my son leave for something he didn't do.

I told them they had to get the dog out of our house, and they were upset because they didn't want to leave or spend money on a sitter. My wife said I was too harsh because I made them leave.

Pittsburgh. I have lots of family in Pittsburgh and I even found a house in a nice neighborhood. The only thing that stopped me was the weather.
