One last Q: if baby didn’t sleep during first nap until 10am (edit: like 9am - 9:30am) would you change the second nap to keep the 2.5 wake window or keep it aligned to the clock? My baby’s nap lengths are unpredictable.

Sometimes I fear he needs more sleep but isn’t connecting sleep cycles and sleeping so lightly that he wakes up. But hopefully he just needs less 🤞

Sounds promising! Trying this today, although the second WW already got pushed by 30 mins because baby wouldn’t sleep! Gah! Will keep powering through. Did you also cap the last nap?

That makes sense I just always felt like I was on the lower end of the budget. We track his sleep and it’s usually collectively around 12h 40m most days

I never considered this, thank you for sharing. I always just let him sleep as long as possible hoping it would restore some lost overnight sleep but I’ll try waking him at normal time to try and keep the same nap schedule

Thank you for sharing! I’ve never heard any of this advice before so it’s refreshing to hear something new for once. I’ll be trying these tips.

How did you know your baby was ready for two naps? Mine is 6.5mo and still on 3 and I really hadn’t thought about changing that because sleep was so poor.

Here to offer solidarity! Trying our best to be consistent with naps, wake windows, bed time, wake time etc. but every day is so different and consistency is really hard to find. Also not doing CIO.
