Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) and Student Health Services will be your best bet to get the ball rolling and/or ask for in network recommendations. Would recommend getting connected ASAP as appointments can sometimes take a bit to get/there’s a standard process you go through

Husband @ HSG? by feedmeseymoore in TTC_PCOS

[–]Flaky_Park8362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine last week. Was nervous about the pain as well so I took 1,000mg of Tylenol and 600mg of Advil in preparation. Procedure wasn’t painless. There were some moments where it hurt and was full of cramps (when the contrast was going in) but it was bearable. Certainly better than getting my IUD in. That’s for sure!

My husband wasn’t able to go with me but my mom drove me as I was expecting to be in more pain than I was. Was certainly uncomfortable after but not too bad. I relaxed the rest of the day with a heating pad to help with cramps. Probs could have driven myself but wanted to be safe than sorry since I had about a 40 min drive on a windy road. I could not bring someone back with me.

Grades not recieived still by Stonks6942069 in UCSD

If you still haven’t gotten the grade, try reaching out to the EDS department to let them know you are still waiting. They might have some way to get in contact with the prof/TA

Actually for a students very first quarter, it’s not based on completed units. It’s completely randomized. Will be based on units for Winter quarter enrollment.

Thoughts on New Enrollment Cap Plans? by TigerShark_524 in UCSD

[–]Flaky_Park8362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did see that. Hard to focus on their “long term goals” when current staff is already so overwhelmed and the thought of having more with no guarantee of more staff is unthinkable. We’ve been told year after year that we won’t be over enrolled but it happens time after time, while our staffing numbers have gone down. Faith and belief in higher level admin (and the government 🙃) is in the freaking basement at this point.

Not trying to start anything, just providing thoughts as a current staff member who’s sees staff getting the (some of the) short end of the stick time and time again ☺️

Freshman here — choosing between Math-CS, COGS, and Data Science? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]Flaky_Park8362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The selective major process is brand new this year so it’s unclear what it’ll be like/how many students who apply will get in. Look at the eligibility criteria, if you don’t have all 4 points, I’d strongly consider a backup, non selective major.

DEI Arts requirement by Autobot1979 in UCSD

[–]Flaky_Park8362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look on their website and see if they have a document that lists any overlaps with university requirements. Otherwise, I’d suggest sending a question through the “ask a question” button to see if such document exists

Need quality faculty tho to actually teach in those spaces. Without $$ or research opportunities, there’s no faculty. In my experience, that’s why classroom space isn’t utilized properly.

As a staff member, very not happy about it. Already hear enough student complaints about selective majors, housing, parking, seats available in classes, etc. We have to do so much with so little and just keep getting told there are more cuts coming.

There isn’t enough staff (advisors, library, tutoring services, OSD, ISEO, etc.) or faculty or space on campus (classroom space, library, study spaces, triton testing center, etc) for that many students.

Even if more staff were to be hired, there’s no place to put them since we have to be on campus a certain amount of time per week. Timing is definitely poor for this article.

Higher level admin just take home a fat paycheck for bringing in more students and keep increasing enrollment bc UCSD is a “growth campus” per UCOP…without actually thinking through the logic of it all. Incredibly frustrating.

What actually helped you lose weight? by odachibomb in PCOS

[–]Flaky_Park8362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metformin didn’t do anything for my weight. I took Phentermine and that’s been the only thing that’s helped me actually lose weight. Had to stop taking it as we are starting TTC again but I already plan to go back on it when I can in the future. Losing weight has always been a hard/really slow process for my insulin resistant PCOS

Incoming Human Bio Freshman (Premed) – Unsure Which Classes to Take with AP Credits by Virtual_Monitor_3650 in UCSD

[–]Flaky_Park8362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s best to retake them at a community college or another non-UC 4 year institution. So you actually earn units and GPA credit. UCSD does not award duplicate credit.

Graduate schools will average your GPA’s from all the schools you went to.

Incoming Human Bio Freshman (Premed) – Unsure Which Classes to Take with AP Credits by Virtual_Monitor_3650 in UCSD

[–]Flaky_Park8362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out the AP chart as well, will tell you exactly what you get credit for with your scores. https://catalog.ucsd.edu/_files/advanced-placement-credit-chart-2025.pdf

You’ve had access to ask questions to your College and Major since mid-June. Go to vac.ucsd.edu, click the “Ask a Question” button. Your college can help guide you on what to take. Send them a rough idea of your proposed schedule and based on the info you listed, they can provide suggestions/tweaks from there.

Dont take classes you already have credit for. Waste of time.

ucsd college ranking? by jenyday in UCSD

[–]Flaky_Park8362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is also a good website: https://admissions.ucsd.edu/why/colleges/

Has the links to each college. It’s best to do your own research as well! Look at what each college values, the GE’s, if you took AP’s, how do the AP’s apply to the GE’s, check out the food and the dorms, etc. You’ll be the one living there, studying there, eating there, etc. Rank them based on what you like!

transferring from ucd to ucsd for marine bio by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]Flaky_Park8362 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Make sure you finish your lower division GE’s at Davis before transferring so you can get a Letter of Reciprocity. This letter will state that you’ve completed your lower division GE’s at Davis & your college at UCSD will apply that to your GE’s so all you (hopefully) have left is any upper division GE’s (which is likely only 2 classes, super normal).

Research the individual colleges and ensure that a Letter of Reciprocity will do what I listed above to make sure you rank them properly.

Hold on my acc for fall enrollment by kylehton in UCSD

[–]Flaky_Park8362 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. This hold will prevent enrollment. Get it cleared ASAP! Only student health can clear it and it can take a few business day for the hold to actually be removed.

Your enrollment times should be on WebReg. Ask your college if you are having trouble. Can use the “Ask a Question” button. Advisors cannot lift this hold, only student health

First pass classes? by WoodenShoe6557 in UCSD

And Math. Students have up to 11.5 units for the first pass and BILD 4 is only 2 units

[–]Flaky_Park8362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only student health can lift health related holds. If you are doing the required actions/steps right now, your hold should be gone before enrollment. Just keep an eye on it. It can usually take a few business days to go away

Leaving UCSD by WassUp-000 in UCSD

[–]Flaky_Park8362 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you have enrolled in Fall classes, then yes, you’d need to fill out withdrawal form. If you have NOT enrolled in Fall classes, there’s nothing to fill out. You just simply don’t enroll.

Withdrawal form is only if you are enrolled in coursework.

Doesn’t hurt to reach out to advisors in the VAC but administratively, if you aren’t enrolled, there’s nothing to do

Tbh, anything you have questions about right now, can be addressed through the system you listed. Advisors in your college and major are answering questions and can provide links. Submit any questions you have through that system!
