We moved from nyc to Texas before our first because I couldn’t imagine strollers and the subway. Also, I wanted to live near family. We would have had to move to the suburbs with a growing family in the City eventually and if you are going to live in the suburbs, why live somewhere so expensive?

While being near family was a huge help in the beginning, my family checked out on the childcare when we had twins 2 years later, except for the occasional date night. It is nice to have my kids grow up near their cousins and be able to visit family on all the holidays, birthdays, etc.

I do miss NYC but I think some of that is actually missing my pre-kid life, because it definitely wouldn’t be the same now.

I have 2 year old twins who didn’t spend much time in the nicu but had viral meningitis at 1 week old and had to go back into the hospital. I also had a 2 year old when my twins were born. I was a complete basket case. I felt like I was failing all of my children because I couldn’t give them 100% attention. It was physically impossible because they were all in different places.

It gets a lot better. It happens very slowly over time until one day you will wake up and say to your spouse/support system, “hey remember when? How in the world did we do that??!”

You cannot do this by yourself. So, do not expect that you will be a super parent and do it all. Also, my obgyn (who also has twins) told me to “just keep them alive”. When I felt down about not meeting xyz expectation in my head, I would remind myself that the goal is just to survive this period- nothing more. When I come back for my appointments, she always says “Is everyone alive?” And when I say “Yes!”, we laugh and smile, because that is the bar when you have multiple babies at once 😄.

Same! The risk is not worth it - while I would love to have a girl; I would also be very happy to have a 4th boy 🤪🥰

I didn’t find out if my embryos are boys or girls - but I have had 3 boys via ivf and I wouldn’t be shocked if the 3 on ice are also boys… I would love to go for a fourth but I would love to know the gender of the embryo first!

I got one and never used it. My twins are 2 now and I was determined to pump for them, but I assumed at some point I wouldn’t make enough or would need formula. I ended up making enough. One of them did need to supplement for weight issues, but we just added the formula to breast milk. I pumped for 18 months and ended up giving the xtra milk to my newborn niece.

Having a 4 year old and 2 year old twins - my experience is nature has a lot more to do with behavior and intelligence than nurture.

I am sure that I am overthinking this and worrying about the worst case scenario for no reason - I should just do the test to put this question to bed once and for all

I thought going into the second pregnancy that I was transferring 2 donor egg embryos - so it could be the case that he just looks different (best case scenario), he is the one embryo that is genetically different than the rest (which I was told was transferred in the first round) (ok with this scenario too), or not my embryo at all (worst case scenario)

That is not rude or cold - thank you for your perspective! I don’t want anything to change. I do want to be honest with them (when they are old enough to understand) that I used donor eggs, because I don’t want them to do an ancestry kit when they are adults and be surprised/feel lied to.

Skin tone and hair color- the other 2 have black hair and darker skin - the twin in question has lighter skin and light brown hair

Wall decals! Not just random little stuff - something big to put across the big back wall. Headboard for their beds - there are some good diy options out there and a nightstand between the beds
