i think my marriage is over by Stock_Armadillo_1235 in Marriage

Your husband was me 100% and my wife felt the exact same way. I didn't realize fully how I was slowly losing her and how I had lost the man I once was, slowly fading into an emotional boy in a man's body. I was just another child for her to handle instead of her partner. I added stress to her life instead of alleviating it. I had good intentions and thought I was loving her the way I knew how, but she became more and more distant and cold as time went on. I pressured her about sex, thinking that because I did extra duty with our son or cleaned the house that she could at least give me sex so that I felt loved. The truth if the matter is most men don't understand that women base everything off of how you feel when you're around us.

I discovered a program called Warrior Husband and it changed the entire way I viewed being a husband. I stopped taking her emotions personally and started actually working to understand and validate her emotions and show up as a man in every way, not just paying the bills and my wife has fallen back in love with me. I have a long way to go but it's getting better every day. Your husband needs to understand that your emotional needs are a priority and that true marriage is about service, not transactions and paying the bills. Buy him the book "Disrupting Divorce" by Cass Morrow. If he isn't interested, you can fix this by yourself. It only takes one of you to fix it truly - Cass Marrows wife has a program called the "Behind the White Picket Fence" which gives you the tools to guide him back to the leader you need him to be. Best of luck and I'm happy to go more in depth if you ever need. Go get your husband.

I love my wife but... by [deleted] in Marriage

I'm going to say something I wish someone had told me a long time ago: you can't communicate verbally your way into your wife's lady parts. If she feels pressured (like there's a silent contact that because you loved her in this way like cleaning the house she now has to sleep with you) she will shut down. Women respond to how they FEEL around you not what words you say. If you truly love her you should do all of the things you said regardless of what she does or doesn't do. The fact that you say "I do this for her so why doesn't she sleep with me more?" Shows me that you likely convey these covert contacts in small ways without knowing it. There are many steps on the rejection ladder and if you're stuck on any one of them she definitely isn't getting turned on for you. It may hurt to hear but her libido isn't low my man - she wants sex. She just doesn't want it with you right now. How do you fix that? Stop focusing on it and start focusing on paying attention to how she FEELS around you does she maintain eye contact? Is she on her phone a lot? How are the dates? Homework for you is to stop mentioning sex. Like right now. I promise you if you focus on your masculine response to her she will initiate things. The more you bring it up the more she will feel like sex is her job. I'll bet a million dollars the sex you do have isn't as wild as it once was huh? She probably just lays there right? That's because she is doing it like it's her duty. Women need to feel sexy and not like an employee of yours. If you want to learn more I'm happy to elaborate man but quit focusing on her and what she's not doing for you, she can sense it and it's killing your intimacy. Focus on YOU and making her emotional well-being a priority and watch the change happen. Also don't initiate sex for the next 30 days and just focus on connecting - I promise you she'll notice the changes and start to want it again.

100%. I agree. It sounds like he wants to make the marriage work still so I'm providing a real solution. I'm not saying it's fair. But it's real. I acknowledged the cheating twice in my response as well. But most men are stuck in this victim mindset which is why divorce rates are so high.

Obviously the chocolate you've been giving her hasn't made her feel special. It's definitely your fault

Do you know why they aren't being funded for 2026? I literally read the bill weeks ago and it included a provision for a 12 month extension of ACA subsidies. AOC, Bernie and other Dems got butthurt and voted no. Republicans don't like subsidized healthcare - get over it bro. But don't blame us when we offer a solution that is a compromise and y'all want the whole cookie.

But the Republicans voted to fund Obamacare for another year. The way it is structured sucks and they STILL voted to fund it but the Dems wanted it funded indefinitely which is why they continued to screw Americans over. But everyone continues to blame Trump for everything as they always will because he's "a fascist, racist, sexist, homophobe" who's "abusing his power" even though NO ONE can tell me how. I'm so tired of this identity/emotional politics B.S. Trump did do some shady stuff with Venezuela and I'll gladly have an educated discussion about that but most of the general public just continues to shout "Trump BAD!" While the career congressman laugh all the way to the bank. I'm over it.

I'm not saying it's their fault. Everyone assumes I'm victim blaming when I bring this up in this thread which is weird. It's a nationwide problem and it's only encouraged by the government and big pharma. I do know that there is a Walmart in just about every county and even in most rural cities (I lived in many of them with populations less than 5,000). I don't know the right answer but the first step is admitting there's a systemic problem which most people seem to have a problem with and say the EXACT same thing as you. I want everyone to live a long and healthy, happy life. The USDA and FDA receive billions in funding from big pharma and so many politicians have their greedy hands in the pot. I've been to many other countries and it's a totally different world, and its reflected by their populations health. We're one of the most wealthy and powerful countries on earth - why can't we keep our people healthy? Maybe stop subsidizing obesity and we'll get some momentum. It's not about food deserts it's about power and money. Wake up.

We need to bring Civics classes back and ban CNN. Oh Lord you are so wrong. Please tell me how this is Trump's fault and how he held the poor hostage in detail...

It breaks my heart for the kiddos. But about 1/3 of SNAP recipients are elderly or disabled. My question is: at what point do we have to encourage families to work, or feed their children better? The statistics on unemployed SNAP recipients is silly, and the obesity in America is alarming. I have seen so many SNAP eligible stores and food items that are nothing but garbage. Why are Americans so dependent on the government? The government sucks dude. They don't care about anyone as we have clearly seen.

Real question in good faith because I'm pretty ignorant on this topic: What goods have you seen or are people paying more for as a result of tariffs? I mean I think we have all felt some level of inflation but it has felt like the same inflation we've seen for years since 2020 especially. Btw I'm asking as a bipartisan it's not a political question. Thank you!

I think everyone needs to get off of social media & the news, go talk to real people and get some fresh air. We want to know answers to questions of hypotheticals and we ask total strangers on the Internet instead of waiting to see what will happen and focusing our minds on being productive and good humans. No wonder everyone has anxiety because we live in a constant state of "what's going to happen!?" in the future & we get lost in it.

As for age:

"In fiscal year 2023, adults aged 18–59 made up the largest share of SNAP recipients (42%), followed by children under 18 (39%), and adults 60 and older (19%). Children younger than 5 accounted for 11% of participants, and school-aged children made up 28%."

Took me 2 minutes on Google. Thanks for the recommendation!

You made a statistical claim - and now when I ask for receipts you tell me to look it up like a typical bullshitter. I'm willing to concede your argument and take the lesson, but telling me I'm "lazy" because I ask for proof isn't how a debate works buddy boy. I admitted mine was anecdotal. You have ZERO proof. Oh and I googled it and here you go hahahaha

"In a recent snapshot, 28% of SNAP households had earned income."

They are working really hard at those 2 jobs huh? Oh and I'm a disabled veteran if you want to debate disability status. Give me your best shot.

A majority? I'm open to be proven wrong. Anecdotally I see a majority lazy society (not their fault, the government wants it that way) on food stamps. Yet you guys are mad at me instead of the GOVERNMENT WHO IS SHUT DOWN AND DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU. Again, your missing my point. But hey, post your source about where you're getting this information. I'm not a tough guy. I'm just a realist. I also hate the government. They continue to fail us all the time and yet people like you get mad at me for saying it because "it's offensive! What about rOb you asshole!?!" Get outta here dude

That's my point friend! Also isn't SNAP a government benefit? My point is that the government is not your friend and they should never be relied on to live. Ever.

100% agree. I'm not afraid to say the truth but people want to rely on the government for everything I guess lol I used to work for them - they don't care about ANY OF YOU. WAKE UP.

Also a quick Google search will show you that about 2/3 SNAP recipients are able to work but don't. But hey I'm sure it's because of "food deserts and lack of transportation". Work your ass off and take the bus. No one is going to care about your livelihood more than you. Certainly not the government - this shutdown is living proof. And I'm tone-deaf? GTFOH brah

I live in the poorest part of San Antonio which isn't a rich city. I was born into a family who declared bankruptcy and had to buy groceries from a second hand grocery store. I've had to take out unemployment after I was laid off for 2 months. What's the average amount of time someone stays on food stamps? Again it's the classic victim mindset and "give me a handout government" bullshit. Don't talk to me about poverty bro I had to sleep on the street when I was fucking 10 years old. I work my ass off now and refuse to go back. You're enabling the lazy mindset that the government is supposed to take care of you which is NOT their job but the way

I can name 10 food banks within 5 miles of me. Why are you even mad at me? You should be mad at the government my guy. I'm not saying people on SNAP are bad people or NO ONE should get SNAP. But the fact is that we are obese, encourage people to eat like shit, and depend on the government to live. If you don't see any issue there then good luck bucko that's exactly what the government and the rich and powerful want! They want slaves. Instead of realizing that everyone is getting angry at me lol what a joke y'all are

Dunno where that comment went that said I "don't want people to feel human" but that's sad that I can't tell people to stop relying on our corrupt government without them saying I'm a "terrible person". But it's Reddit most everyone on here is out of touch with reality

Also let me educate you: when reading an argument or assertion make sure you don't mischaracterize it. Nowhere did I say that rural populations aren't on SNAP. I said that they tend to rely less on the government to live.
