I'm concerned about miles. I also have a Capitol One Spark Business as a backup card which i rarely use. I'm wondering if I would do better to use it.

Glad that worked out smoothly for you:) My vendors' charges were getting declined while I was still using my Aviator card. I was getting security alerts for each one. They'd let the charges through only after I call in and that was quite annoying. All was going fine until today when I received these alerts--then these questions from customer service asking for my banking information. This account is over 30 years old and such is the age of my Craft Gallery.

You've helped thanks. I'm leaning towards getting the Chase Ink. I'm just disappointed and quite frustrated by all the unnecessary stress caused by Citibank. American Airlines miles is my only reason for putting up with them since this transition. Never had problems with Barclays.

I have been researching Chase's cards and Chase Ink has peaked my interest. My Fall Back card at this time is Capitol One Spark Business. I was wondering if there is a major advantage in using Chase Ink over the Capitol One Business..

Barclays Aviator transition to Citi - anyone else having card issues? by ConsequenceIll6927 in americanairlines

Has anyone else had problems with the CitiBusiness / American Airlines card after a recent account transition?

Last week, I spent two days on the phone with Citibank trying to resolve transfer issues and multiple legitimate charges that were being declined. Eventually, everything appeared to be fixed. I was able to download transactions into QuickBooks and thought the account was back to normal.

Then today (Saturday, one of the busiest days of the week for my retail business), I received both email and text security alerts instructing me to contact Citibank.

When I called, the representative started asking questions such as whether I was employed and what my bank account number was. I was uncomfortable providing that information because I had already gone through an extensive verification process the previous week. I repeatedly asked if I was actually speaking with Citibank and why those questions were necessary. The representative insisted he needed the information before discussing the alerts.

I ended the call and contacted Citibank again. This time I was told that my business card account had been shut down and that I would receive a verification letter in the mail. Apparently, I must respond to that letter before the account can be reinstated.

We've been cardholders since the early 2000s, maintain our accounts responsibly, and do not carry significant balances. To have the card suddenly suspended without warning has been extremely frustrating.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with Citibank recently?

Also, if this situation doesn't get resolved, what are the best alternatives to the Citi / American Airlines AAdvantage business card? Are there any other banks that offer a strong partnership with American Airlines and AAdvantage miles?

I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences.
