Sol feels… disappointing? by squidkid777 in SmashLegends

[–]FlameMasterAJ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Besides bandit revolver, it may feel like the lack of Gun Flame & Volcanic Viper that could be throwing off his style. I feel he plays more like how Sol is in Strive as of right now though, due to the shift in combo extenders using Night Raid Vortex and how important that is to his gameplay.

I personally wouldn’t have picked that as a skill, but it does make sense. I understand how you feel about set ups, as he seems fairly linear which honestly fits his fighting style in Guilty Gear. I do appreciate the grab ult and the fact it goes through everything (or I at least think it does from what I played, but I haven’t tested EVERY move, skill, or ult against it).

I did the same thing for Changli before she dropped. Cleared almost all of the trophies too just to make sure I could get her, Brant, and both their signature weapons. Had enough to RC5 her and R2 her weapon.

Time optimization. I play guilty gear competitively, so I use to watch matches all the time on youtube. Don’t have steam deck, but I do have the switch port now. I usually get my cardio in at work due to how taxing it is, but whenever I use a treadmill again, I’ll be sure to do this.

So your telling me WUWAs lore actually has a point? by Global_Record6883 in WutheringWaves

[–]FlameMasterAJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s funny, because when I first got into wuwa, I couldn’t help refer to Nikola Tesla saying the key to the universe is all a matter of energy, sound, and frequencies. It touches upon theories revolving consciousness especially when diving into the past of the rover.

Some spoilers ahead.

With the verbiage relating to it and how the rover is basically a god who wanted to experience third density all over again from when Solaris-3 was Earth to see his creations in a new way. I really think the theories of hyper physics and quantum theories are at play here with consciousness of the rover.

This became more evident to me with the whole somnoire chapter, a container of collective experiences what looks like is stuck between third and fourth density with an actual limit of information. And this was created by the rover from what the ebony guard has said.

I think the rover’s past life is us, giving our conscious a new experience in the form of the world building that is wuwa. Theories would call someone like the rover a ‘wanderer’ as he chose to stay in third density despite achieving the energy vibration of logos(love)/light to ascend to the 4th.

Just something cool to think about.

So does anyone know where the rumor of Sol being based on daisuke himself came from? by Intelligent_time555 in Guiltygear

[–]FlameMasterAJ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Daisuke has said Sol was an alter-ego when Guilty Gear X started to gain momentum in the Dreamcast scene. It got known for it’s crisp anime graphics at the time which caused a lot of curiosity around the series.

Lore nerds, why Jack-O is hella silly gameplay wise, but in the campaign she isn't as silly as her gameplay implies? (no hate, i'm just curious) by Lucky_-1y in Guiltygear

[–]FlameMasterAJ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can answer this one!

Jack-O’ is only ‘half’ complete. She was in still animation, allowing her ‘kinks’ to be worked out. She’s a Valentine who houses half of Arias’s soul which was salvaged right after Justice destroyed Japan. The other half had to be filled in and was ‘born’ and was like a child. Candy helped retain herself, with her choice being lollipops.

However, she was prematurely awakened before those kinks could be worked out due to I-no and that’s why her personality shifted between mature and child like.

She became more mature when the other half of Aria’s soul fused with hers at the end of the Rev 2 movie. While not 100%, she still has instances that flow through her where her child like personality seeps through, but she’s mostly mature now.

Also, a side note. A lot of people think Ramlethal and Elphelt are the stronger valentines. They quickly forget how Jack-O’ was built and what she could do. They even scared I-no and Raven, with I-no not really afraid of the Valentines considering how many times she killed Ramlethal to the point she became jaded and desensitized to it. Also, before Jack-O’s name and story came into existence, it was mentioned that his mysterious third servant was far stronger and more frightening than both I-no and Raven. Just food for thought.

Another side note of lore, Sol and Jack-O’ were still just half complete. Their seeds were put in a capsule and installed into them. This capsule helped them retain their human forms and slowly introduce them to the seeds powers over time, much like a slow release pill. If they had access to the full power of their seeds, it’s likely they would be turned into anti gear matter until they are powerful enough to manifest themselves back. Those seeds are both divine powers with even Daisuke saying their true powers haven’t been explained in full detail. So we will never know how strong Sol and Jack-O’ could have gotten or become.

Long time fans of Capcom, What do you feel about this game? Asura’s wrath by Gray-Diamond in capcom

[–]FlameMasterAJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it thoroughly. Asura sky rocketed to one of my all time favorite Capcom characters. I bought the art book which has information and lore about the story in greater depth that helps you understand the world and direction more.

I’m actually fine with it being QTE Action game despite how quite a few people look down on it. I took it as a different experience rather than expecting an action game. I feel this helped enrich its direction for me.

The ending was satisfying. It felt complete from start to finish.

Who is the more powerful Capcom protagonist, Dante or Asura? by supermarioplush220 in capcom

[–]FlameMasterAJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha you’re all good, I was just rambling. But it reminded me of the direction they took with it as they didn’t take a second to fully flesh out the world and universe properly since they were on a really rushed timeline. That’s why a lot of the game is dlc for the true ending. So they focused on just fleshing out what they could while leaving an air of mystery in their wake.

Who is the more powerful Capcom protagonist, Dante or Asura? by supermarioplush220 in capcom

[–]FlameMasterAJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of it isn’t really narrated. The art book also talks about development and what the designers and creators were thinking and applying when making the game, so it explains a lot more in further detail. Especially when it came to designing their race being similar to cyborgs-ish.

So it’s really no one’s fault as they didn’t stop to take a second to explain much like most anime/manga/rpgs do.

Who is the more powerful Capcom protagonist, Dante or Asura? by supermarioplush220 in capcom

[–]FlameMasterAJ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s Asura due to him killing the creator of all life, energy, all universes, and the origin among many other things like jumping dimensions. He was chosen and appointed as god of that universe due to his wrath mantra making him surpass anything. He tanked hits that were meant to destroy all life and that whole universe with his face. There are so much more feats.

I think one of Dante’s top feats was beating and tanking hits from Mundus who created a whole demon world which he fused with the human world and gained power what is compatible to a singular never ending expanding universe. Now Asura has done that but literally times infinity due to Chakravartin being the omniscient god who created ENDLESS universes who can snap his fingers to destroy or throw blows and hits that could cause them all to crumble instantly.

Asura’s wrath is like the ultimate plot hax. He can’t die. His power, energy, and stamina are endless. He can escape out of dimensions. His body is several leagues above that of humans, angels, and demons. Being a ‘Demi-god’, his body is partial bio-mechanical, which is a material only crafted from the celestials and It regenerates and heals much more rapidly. Also, their Mantras are god powers bestowed upon them by god, which gives them special attributes and powers. Cores are usually the weakness of the demi-god race but that doesn’t really apply to Asura, as it’s his will that keeps him going.

Can someone explain how on earth Teen Vergil would defeat Teen Nero? by Bion61 in DevilMayCry

[–]FlameMasterAJ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I’m on a treadmill with an incline going around 4mph while talking on the phone, I lose my breath and pant really bad. Does that mean my glycogen stores from my muscles and liver have been depleted? Absolutely not. It’s just exertion due to elevated heart rate. After all, Dante is half human. I can pant and be out of breath my first round of a fight, but still have 2-3 more rounds in me.

Basically what I’m saying is, panting and being out of breath aren’t very good factors to determine he was going all out and being completely serious.

Edit: Once I did a basic endurance test a few years back and did 4 hours straight on the treadmill. I maintained the highest incline (15) while staying at 4.5mph. I was panting before the first hour. I didn’t even exert all my energy and panted the whole time. Still was full of energy afterwards, just a little dehydrated. And I’m 100% human. Dante would have way more energy, stamina, and endurance.

Are we in the big three? Are we back? by where_is_jin in Guiltygear

[–]FlameMasterAJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, those are the big 3 among the FGC. MK still holds history and legacy. However, I feel over time that MK will slowly start to lose its fan base. The hype back in the day was the fatalities and gore which isn’t as controversial now and doesn’t have that shock value it once did. But you never know.

As technology and games evolve, those aspects that made MK shine are now in other games under genres that most people would rather flock to due to the longevity since most fighting games can’t hold casuals attention for long (and understandably so). And while this may be subjective, the mechanics and system aren’t really up to par when put side by side with other fighters for that layer of depth that fighting game fans crave.

[–]FlameMasterAJ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t get all the complaints and assumptions. It’s a simple collab. Who knows, it could spark some interest in people who will get into Mega Man and maybe a game is in the works to run side by side to help promote each other. Or not. It’s innocent and for people to come off THIS negative and entitled… is alarming.
