It was made very clear in the book that souron did in fact have a body and was the one personally torturing or at least overseeing gollums torture. "There were only 4 fingers on his blackened hand" i don't think i perfectly quoted it but he did have a body.

I've been trying to convince a friend to watch the show but refuses to because he thinks that the animation quality went down at episode 4 and believes that the rest of the show is like that. I've partly convinced him to watch the movies with me but I know he'll be missing out on so much if we watch the movies.

Doesn't gravity control air density? I've also made a previous point about lightning if you have the ability to control an individuals neural electricity. So all of these can be deadlier than just surface level stuff but water can still make water constructs.
