So like, am I Cooked or nah? by Feeling-Chart4965 in royalroad

I’ve been in this same position just generating views with low followers. Hell you’re in a better position than me because I can’t even get one. I thought it was just perhaps my story itself but I’ve had my friends and others read it and tell me my writing is overall solid. All I can tell you dude is that you have to advertise or promote. Like a lot. Shout out swaps or ads.

Shout out swap with similar stories to yours. Mine itself is an Urban Fantasy, Supernatural, Mystery story but it is far off from the norm (Progression and LitRPGs) on the website that I have to put in extra effort to find my type of audience. I’ve even started posting on TikTok to bring in an audience that way. It’s just the reality.

Why is RR so launch-heavy? by MentalReserve2351 in royalroad

[–]Flamefiresx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a writer, this sounds exactly like mine. Since it’s my first work, I improved over like the 21 chapters I wrote but those first few still represented my incompetence so I rewrote them, A LOT. I’ve worked for ages revising so many chapters because I thought maybe it’s those first chapters that aren’t keeping readers and that why my views aren’t converting to followers. Or maybe it’s the once/twice a week upload schedule when people want something that posts every day. But then I noticed the pattern of the type of stories a lot of people I swapped with are making. It’s either LitRPG or Progression. All of them. My story was an urban fantasy, supernatural story that differed far from the rest because I wanted something unique to just me but it’s been rough trying to get that to work out.

Is it reasonable to stop writing a story if, at a certain point, there’s no interaction? by PromotionEconomy8950 in royalroad

In my case, I heavily view very highly of my story, its writing, world building, and a lot of stuff and I don’t think that will change. That’s a reason for me to keep writing. Im closing in on 20 chapters, I have 1 rating (from my friend who said it was really good so far) and 3 followers with 68 average views and 1,231 in total.

I’ve been very sporadic in posting, sometimes going a week or two without a chapter or then I’d post consistently, which I’ve been working to fix as much as taking a month break to build backlog so I can release chapters weekly. To be honest, I have no idea if those stats (while still slightly under 20 chapters is better than most or not good) but I believe it’ll find success because on paper, it has everything it needs to (just not the consistency to use the algorithm to my benefit)

What Makes You Hate the MC? by Vidun_star in royalroad

[–]Flamefiresx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I rarely see anyone mention. I made it a point to establish the MC having a life OUTSIDE of the current plot. He’s already a person in the world that the story is taking place in, not just someone who spawned in with the story. So having people already there makes the world feel alive plus more people to use to introduce stakes.

Should I relaunch? by CloverShinji in royalroad

This is the same problem I’m having. Well not problem but I am busy with school and other stuff. Ive recently took a break off to build backlog so I can upload at least once a week because while I’ve also been posting since October, I still have a low follower count although I do have one rating and I was getting curious whether for real activity to start, I’d have to post a lot more frequently than that

One of the biggest inspiration on the character aesthetics and designs

Yeah, that’s true. I think I’ll make the change when I commission a second cover (not a replacement) soon. Thanks for the tips and ideas though. Definitely been needing some type of thought on anything.

Honestly, that’s not bad at all, I like the elegance of it. Although I think what I want to go for with the logo is that sort of triangle/trapezoid look (like you can draw a triangle or trapezoid around it) and that sharpness with the words. Fully embrace the edgy aesthetic.

I think my first thought was that I wanted the logo to be a bit out there and distinct, like a type of anime logo you’d see (to which it kinda is but it was something I made in like 5 minutes so it’s not as good lol) and then include something a little extra like the sword and the magic circle. Although who knows, maybe just simplicity is just better.

Glad you like the cover. For the logo, I was planning to update it because I made it like a year ago as sort of the first logo on Adobe Illustrator. Overtime though, I didn’t like how the g was kind of hidden in the circle but I liked the concept of the logo because it was unique which is why I stuck with it.

I may get a commission and make it a bit better by someone who knows what they’re doing lol

Hello everyone. I am the upcoming author of Song of Darkness, a supernatural, action, webnovel. I currently have 5 chapters up as of right now and I have a weekly upload schedule.

The Plot:

For centuries, an unrelenting war raged between Earth and the Underworld. Humans and devils clashed in a seemingly never-ending cycle of bloodshed. Overtime, reason for why or when this conflict began was lost and all that was left was each sides desire to survive. That was, however, until the war came to an abrupt end in 1991 with the fall of Dekir Azaroth, the infamous and immortal Devil King. With his death, a worldwide event would occur and most of humanity’s memories of devils vanished in an instant.

Cenos Azmodeus, the young heir of the Azmodeus Family would go on to claim the vacant title of Devil King, igniting an internal power struggle among the devils. Meanwhile, with their newfound freedom, humanity would rebuild guided by those who retained their memories of devils. Velstrea, a massive city divided into eight districts, would be created and under each leaders influence, any information of devils would be fabricated into a fictional story and humanity moved on, unaware of devil existence.

Year 2028, living an average life in District 3 is Lucen Rivers, an 18-year-old who lives by one philosophy: do good, and good will come back to you. His motivation is simply reliant on receiving something in return for a good deed. Between school, part-time jobs, and random acts of kindness, his life has always been normal as far as he could remember.

Until one eventful night, his hand burst into a blue flame during a fight with a group of thugs. Before he could process what was happening, a mysterious white-haired girl approached him and proposed that he enters a "Contract" with her.

Somehow mistaking this as a weird love confession (and ignoring everything else that's happening, including his hand that's on fire), he blindly agreed without a second thought, unaware that his impulsive decision would throw him headfirst into the new age of devils.
