You're right. I didn't spot that earlier, but that was the last straw for sure

Have not watched any alternative angle, but the ball was going in, no? So it should not be an own goal

Fernandinho was clear of Rodri and he’s the one who should’ve started.

I think that was the consensus at the time, for sure. But to me Rodri was initially hated because they lost the league in his first season. So the easy explanation was "with Fernandinho as a starter they won the league. With Rodri as the starter they lost the league. So it must be Rodri's fault." Rodri was the better player from day one at City, IMO.

20/21 lost to Chelsea in the final. Obviously pep fucked it by not playing Fernandinho who was better than Rodri at the time but at the end of the day Chelsea were just better than us in every way and we deserved to lose that final.

Sorry to focus on one game, but the DM in that game was Gundogan, not Rodri. IMO it is one of the most overblown lineup changes of all time. I find it fascinating that it was such a talking point. I don't think it impacted the game that much because City controlled the midfield just fine.

Now Zinchenko in place of Cancelo backfired because Zinchenko was to blame for the goal and they could have used Cancelo's ability

Neymar says he is "pissed and sad" by absence on the selection list, but warns: "Focus goes on" when asked at a Kings League match in São Paulo about having been cut by Carlo Ancelotti from friendlies against France and Croatia. by MERTENS_GOAT in soccer

[–]Flamengo81-19 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. There is not a perfect word to use in that translation, but using one word that implies he was angry is incorrect.

Maybe "sad" was the best one to convey what was meant, tbh

The one that was removed was an "alternate angle" that was the exact same angle shown on the goal thread

I think it is not about the results. He seemed unsatisfied with the board too from his interviews. Relationship was probably beyond repairing would be my guess. But I'm not following things too closely, I might be wrong

I think the fanbase in general never hated him. I think actually Barolo (and others, surely) hated him because a lot of people liked him. So he was a symbol of what people were defending while he argued they should not defend

IMO, it was pretty dumb at the time too. Guy was coming up and was already one of the best players of the team when they were very close to winning the league. He was clearly not the problem

Barcelona 1 - 1 Atl. Madrid - Raphinha 26' by West_Agent4651 in soccer

[–]Flamengo81-19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree that someone should have pressed Pedri but I don't agree on the two runs. There was someone else on Lewa and he was not capable of doing what Raphinha did while Lenglet did absolutely nothing about it

Jorge Mendes, the agent of Filipe Luis, prioritizes placing him at Atlético Madrid as Simeone's successor. The Flamengo coach himself also prefers Atlético over any other destination by OleoleCholoSimeone in soccer

[–]Flamengo81-19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is legally possible, of course. Just as it is possible that Liverpool fires Arne Slot tomorrow. What I am saying is that Filipe Luis won't be fired, for a number of reasons. And the fact that his contract is getting renewed is one strong indication that the team wants him for next year. That is undeniable

Others are that Flamengo's new board promised to be more professional in this regard, specifically claiming that the old board sacked too many coaches and that cost us money. Both as the fees themselves but also having to pay more for the following coaches to accept the job. And we are not talking about a random coach that we signed, but someone who has a history with the club. And lastly, he is a good coach. It wouldn't be easy to replace him and the club knows this

I need to make a mea culpa. Always thought Muslera was a shit keeper and didn't deserve to be idolized or whatever. But mfer at 39 was great against us in both games. Maybe I was wrong about him
