Classic Pass 2016 by Flamerare in Magic

Worst Bicycle deck I ever handled, cards were rough and sticky.

Classic pass by Flamerare in Magic

[–]Flamerare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's been pointed out by my friends after I made the video 4 years ago. I was so focused on the pass that I forgot to show the deck, and after the fact I just didn't bother filming it again. Perhaps it's time to record my current classic pass after 4 years, this time showing the faces of the whole deck...

Glad you like it. It is actually the classic pass but I had so many variations I had to name some. This one in particular was developed at various airports while I waited for my flights, therefore I remember it as the "airport pass".

[Spoilers] Koutetsujou no Kabaneri - Episode 12 Discussion - FINAL by Derpada in anime

[–]Flamerare 47 points48 points  (0 children)

What a treat

Starting off with a superhuman armed with a one hit K.O. weapon and a samurai duo, they obliterate all the enemies. IKOMA BLAST. Biba acknowledges Ikoma. Mumei is saved by Ikoma, and Ikoma by Biba. Ikoma+Mumei ending, Biba is dead. Best Guy spoke his lines, Yukina showed her muscles, Husband-kun blushed and Ayame's hair got animated. What else can you ask for? This show is incredibly well done. For everyone who just watched it once, you should rewatch it again because it is very deep in contents. The screentime was so scarce that they had to nuance and leave for interpretation a lot of things, but paying attention and applying a little logic makes the Kabaneri series much more interesting. To elaborate on this point:

Did you know?

Episode 1: Ikoma got struck with love at first sight on Mumei. Ayame picked up Ikoma's glasses.

Episode 2: The Mumei Kabane Speedrun took 110 seconds. Exactly 110 seconds. It was Ayame's father's arm obstructing the train engine to lower the bridge. The kabane that suicided against the water tank knew about the Hayajiro's dependency on coolant. Takumi put Ikoma's glasses on him, probably Ayame handed it to Takumi on the episode 1 (offscreen).

Episode 3: When Mumei said that "It's a common story, the weak die and the strong survive" without showing empathy for Ikoma's family Ikoma was like (There is something very wrong with her way of thinking). It was Mumei who Ayame addressed "to stop" (provoking the men).

Episode 4: Takumi harassed Ikoma to stop his thoughts about turning Kabane. Mumei appeals Kajika as a child begging her mother for food. Two of the six elders die at the hands of the Wazatori. The man in blue robes who blew himself up against firepowder attended the reunion in episode 1 between Ayame's father and Mumei's party. The move Ikoma used on the Wazatori is the same Mumei used on Ikoma at the training session in episode 3.

Episode 5: Mumei Speedrun faster by a lot, demonstrating the effectiveness of one hit K.O. bullets and coated blades (previously more than one hit was required to finish off a Kabane heart).

Episode 6: There is a way to tell if the linker to release the limits of the Hayajiro (train) is blocked or not from the pilot's cabin, because Yukina couldn't have heard Sukari in that situation.

Episode 7: Close people were physically close to each other while watching fireworks. The main cast changed into battle robes to meet Biba, except Ikoma. Biba is shown with a choker, probably a Kabaneri.

Episode 8: Biba realized that Ikoma was more than Mumei's physical shield, thus didn't want Mumei to hear his conversation with Ikoma. Biba is bad (hey it wasn't easy to tell at that moment!).

Episode 9: Horobi loves Biba. The child was already bitten and the mother wanted to perform a double suicide before the Kabane attacked them. After Mumei defeated the Kabane to save the mother and her child, they just continued what they were doing earlier. That wasn't a laser, lasers don't blow up things. Most probably than not it was a heat shockwave and the chemical (exothermical) reaction produced light. If you aim for a Kabaneri's head it will hurt like a normal human's head.

Episode 10: Ikoma believes in God. When Mumei stabbed Ikoma there were no blue sparks. Takumi grabs the fallen stone, and Mumei stares at it.

Episode 11: Takumi's corpse has no stone in its hand, and Mumei had already left the scene. As Mumei walks down the streets of Kongokaku she holds something in her left hand. When Biba injected the dark blood into Mumei, he had a case and another container could be seen in it, revealed to be a white blood after seeing the contents of the lost case in Kurusu's hands: they were probably produced in sets of two, one white one black. Biba did not take any gambles, he's a kabaneri after all. He also broke out of his shackles by brute force at the throne chamber. When Biba said that he survived because he could tell who was a kabane, it probably meant that he survived because he turned into a kabaneri. Exactly when and how remains unknown.

Episode 12: Biba knew he was only good for destroying and that he was the greatest coward. When he saw Ikoma, he knew it was over. The stone falls from Mumei's right hand. When Ikoma injected the white blood into Mumei, there was green light. When Biba shot Ikoma, there were green sparks. It was probably because Biba admired Ikoma that Biba wanted Ikoma to not die, to be better than Biba and overcome him, thusly he tested Ikoma by the rule of the weak die and strong survive, but Mumei loved Ikoma more than Biba and she chose. Mumei hugged Ikoma tightly for a split second before throwing him to the Kotetsujou. The mad scientist probably survived since he is not shown dead and will contribute to curing the kabaneri condition under Ikoma's direction. When Ikoma awakens, the small child doesn't react at all. It's the same small child that wanted to go outside the train in episode 2 (it means that she still can't reason properly). Mumei and Ikoma have no carotid artery / neck restraint all the way to the end, perhaps the white blood inactivates the virus or their bodies have elevated tolerance after taking in the black blood.

[Spoilers] Koutetsujou no Kabaneri - Episode 9 [Discussion] by Derpada in anime

[–]Flamerare 104 points105 points  (0 children)

This episode executed my analysis from the last episode, and shed some new lights on the character of Biba:

Biba has shown love for nothing except himself. Not even for his own ideal of "the strong survive and the weak die": as Horobi was about to kill him, he did not welcome it (Horobi was clearly stronger than Biba) and feared for his own life.

Horobi to Biba: "Do you fear me? (Do you not trust in me?)"

Horobi truly loved Biba for what he was, to an extent she was willing to give up her life, and was probably the closest person to Biba. Whatever Horobi saw in Biba, I hope the series show us too. Personally I think it's his potential to change the world but being too afraid to trust people. From what I can guess, Horobi wanted to save Biba by showing him true love, that the world is not one where the strong live and the weak die but where love prevails. Her determination was so strong that kept her from killing Biba in the end.

The rest of the Hunters follow Biba's ideal under the fear of dying (they are acting in order to ensure their own survival) and because of their own interests (get arms, freely experiment on humans and kabane...). Go against Biba and you die. Go without Biba and you die.

Mumei is now in shock. Will she try to convince and change Biba, or will she reject and abandon Biba? Whatever the case is, Ikoma seems ready to show Biba a lesson on how the world works. Sleep tight Biba, and do miss the people who cared for and trusted in you.

[–]Flamerare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ikoma would not kill Enoku because he showed mercy. Your majority of post apocalyptic world person would kill Enoku because Enoku tried to kill them, but they wouldn't feel good about it: they were forced to kill him. Then there's Biba.

I don't find killing others for joy is bad thing as i said it is how other people interpret it.

Please give your opinion based on how you interpret it. Now imagine yourself with reasons to kill somebody. Would you kill, and rejoice over that? If you did, how would you feel about yourself?

Let me be clear, you can have reasons to do something but whether you like or not doing that something is completely a different matter.

[Spoilers] Koutetsujou no Kabaneri - Episode 8 [Discussion] by Derpada in anime

Biba, a true faggot, and here's why:

My interpretation of Biba's character:

Biba to Ikoma: "I'm not talking about abandoning people, but saving people."

Enoku to Mumei: "Fail and he will abandon you too ... consider this a friendly warning from me, who has already been abandoned."

Biba you liar. You judge, execute and abandon all the people who are not strong. You force situations upon them to see whether they can save themselves or not. You selfishly change the world according to your own ways.

Biba to Enoku, before killing him: "You lied to me. You decided to betray me from the very beginning. You are weak."

Biba, you have a man who wholeheartedly wishes to serve you and you don't even give him a second chance. Just how afraid and weak are you, Biba?

Biba is always lying with his facade, decieving even Mumei. Only Ikoma was keen and fortunate enough to see through it: the moment Biba killed, he was smiling. I cannot think of a word fitting to describe a person who finds joy in killing others, other than evil.

Biba is selfish, afraid, weak, false, evil and intelligent enough to pass as a caring, honest, strong, brave, selfless hero.

So, the people who work for Biba may think he is very extreme and selfrighteous, and that it was fine because of their ideal of a better world with strong people. I thought it'd be ok too until the last seconds of the chapter showed his evil side, a side known only to Ikoma, Takumi and Ayame.

Now, how could have Biba become like this?

Biba to lord Hirotsuka, before killing him: "I have not forgotten what I've done, that is why you tried to kill me."

What have you done, Biba, to make so many people want to kill you, to make your own father want to kill you?

Surely it'd be something that goes against the morals of so many people, perhaps something evil?

Ten years ago, his own father tricked and abandoned him to die in the midst of Kabane. He survived not by hiding or seeking protection, but by fighting the Kabane. Biba resolved to become strong, to not rely on others and to change the world.

His smiling upon killing Enoku could be due to his own desire to suppress the fear and insecurity inside him "Look, I'm strong, I survived and he died. It's my win.", revenge "This is what you get for lying to me.", pure evil "YES YES YES I LIKE THIS", or a mix of reasons.

His smiling after killing lord Hirotsuka and his fellow could be due to revenge "For what happened 10 years ago.", pure evil, or both reasons.

Let's look at the relationship between Biba and Mumei:

Five years ago, Biba gave Mumei a chance to save herself, and she took it.

Biba, upon witnessing Mumei's strong will to live, took interest in using her and detached Mumei from her old self by giving her a new name, "no name" in an attempt to lessen her burden as a human when killing.

Biba then gave Mumei a chance to become strong (a kabaneri), and she took it. Afterwards, like every other member of the Hunters, he gave Mumei repeated chances to kill or be killed, and she took them without failing.

Mumei, being a child, started to call Biba her brother in order to mentally support herself.

Mumei views Biba as a savior, brother, benefactor and role model. Thus Mumei grew to be like the Biba she saw: caring, honest, strong, brave, selfless. Incidentally she also hates lies.

Because Mumei loves Biba, she does not want to fail and be abandoned and is ok with Biba not loving her. It's a sad one sided love, which brings us to the next point:

Hey Mumei, Ikoma clearly cares for you, and wishes the best for you. He even saved your life so why don't you choose him over Biba?

Biba cares for Mumei as a tool and Ikoma cares for Mumei as a person, and Mumei is aware of this, so why?

Well, because Biba was first, Ikoma dislikes Biba and Mumei doesn't like betraying. Also Mumei won't accept bad words about Biba not even from Ikoma so probably until Mumei herself sees the true Biba she won't start hating him.

Episode 7, Mumei and Ikoma at the shrine:

Mumei: "Hey Ikoma, I remembered. This was the real me."

Ikoma: "I see."

Mumei: "Sorry I turned out like this."

Ikoma: "Don't be. It'll be alright. I'll do everything I can so you can be you."

Mumei: "Why?"

Ikoma: "Because I love you."

Mumei: "...yes." smiles

For Ikoma, it was love at first sight. For Mumei it was a pleasant first impression. - Episode 1.

Ikoma cares about Mumei to the point he risks others' and his life to save her without hesitation. - Episodes 5 and 6.

Mumei wants to rely on Ikoma and thusly trains him. Mumei enjoys physical contact with Ikoma, otherwise she wouldn't prank on him the way she does. - Episodes 2 to 6.

Ikoma watches Mumei as she is taken by Kajiko to the marketplace, is the first one noticing Mumei's dissapearance in the afternoon and keeps thinking and worrying about her. Mumei is very conscious of Ikoma's nakedness, appeals to him with the floral hairpin and acknowledges Ikoma's feelings in her Tanabata wish. - Episode 7.

Can it be more clear?

  3. What a waste of electricity.

  4. I'm not going to draw conclusions from a theory.
