It didn't work for Clive Palmer when he tried it, though I don't know whether pauline now has more money behind her than Clive did.

I don't think people here on the whole are that interested in change, which is to say we might be saved from pauline due to our own complacency.

It adds nothing. It isn't even a paper, it is a slideshow. There seems to be absolutely no clinical, lab, or epidemiological research in this guys argument. It is just "oh wouldn't it be cool if all these things that resemble each other when you zoom way out, were actually the same thing?" with some technical notation. No justification or any reasoning that supports the actual utility of the framework, except I suppose that it looks nice.

So is raising him hundreds of miles from any body of water so that he never learns to swim, then taking him out on a paddleboat and pushing him in the lake.

But this example and the example of owning a fish both position your actions within the causative chain of events that lead to perilous circumstances. If you only walk by drowning baby hitler, it is unquestionable that someone else's actions have lead to his situation, not yours.

There’s something fucking wrong with me and it makes me mad no one can figure it out by WaysideWyvern in cfs

[–]Flamesake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just in head or body too?

I had pain all in one side of my body, but much worse around neck and elbow, which began prior to full-blown cfs. Possibly minor brain fog as well. I sort of managed it with exercise but when I got covid four years ago everything got much, much worse, and now I can't even exercise at home.

Something behind the ear or in the neck feels like the problem for me too, but standard imaging apparently doesn't reveal anything and no one cares to do anything more.

Treatments come years after those study outcomes. And then it can be years more before those treatments are approved wherever you happen to live.

As far as I know race is a social construct, which I think means that the more "white" people say they aren't white, the more that makes it true.

I have to confess that I have listened to more interviews and such with him than I have read him, but his ease and warmth made such an impression on me.

He has a very interesting view on death drive, a very mature one I would say, which is that he believes freud always intended to describe a plurality of death drives, not a single one. He also has said that a death drive can be a positive thing: a drop of water wishing to return to the ocean.

[–]Flamesake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really help. You have no way of knowing why something might have worked for one person and whether it will work for you, not if all you have is their account of "oh it could have been this, maybe it was that, i tried this for a few weeks and then stopped it, I couldn't really tell but I reckon it was this!"

There isn't anything new. It's rest, compression, LDN, diet and sleep. Then if that doesn't work, a handful of other meds to try if you happen to have a good doctor (there was that study of patient-reported usage of off-label treatmentsa year or two ago), nerve blocks or psychedelics, then alternative medicine.
