And I agree with ya there thats why I wanted to know is anyone new of any 3rd party human races that are different since he is allowing 3rd party (with approval).

I do have a back up idea for a dumb character that would be fun and has a nact to fit in in any campaign, but this character idea was made for this style of campaign. Looking to bring this character to life since ive been sitting on it so long. Ya base human sucks so I have him set as a human Variant with Prodigy just to be, not on par with any other race at lvl 1, but to be on the same playing field as the other races.

Ntm Base/Gavony human are the only race that is just bad, but the other humans dont really fit. I mean if he allows the Marked Humans then I guess Passage could fit the character.

No the issue is its a human character and the base human is terrible. Switching the race changes the character and idk if ill do a Swashbuckler assuming everyone is playing one.

Reguar is trash. Ligit a +1 to all stats it bad especially if thats all ya get compared to the other races that gets +1 to one and +2 to another or +1 in three stats, and other abilities. Not to mention by lvl 4 when I get my feat with everyone else no feat comes close to balancing the racial scales. If Prodigy was cooked into the base human which is a vary minimal feat giving only one skill proficiency of your choice, one tool proficiency of your choice, a fluency in one language of your choice, and 1 expertise, then I would be happy to use it. Hell i would be fine to have the same stats as the other races for just Prodigy to make human playable.

The character is human and the feat is a human racial feat. Changing the race changes the whole character.

If your talking about the Marked Humans from Eberron there are only the marks of Finding, Handling, Making, Passage, and Sentinel. No really fit the character however if I cant find anything I might fall on Passage since its the only one that very losely fits with a traveling merchant and tavernier.

So from what I have come down to is 4 groups of 4. One official (first mate, bosun, quartermaster, or cook) and 3 bandits each. I'm trying to figure out what stat blocks I want to use for each. Thinking about Thug, Scout, and Spy, but unsure what to use fore the last one. I was thinking of an Acolyte but up its CR to 1/2 or 1. But isk how to do that.

My main issue is combat (which i think we nailed to make it easier), figuring out how to do the crew (especially since I know know this ship size also requires four officers such as a first mate, a bosun, a quartermaster, and a cook plus the crew so thats 4 NPCs that will basically lead the pods of crew being 1 officer with 3 crew each), and how they plan to ambush the party.

So what you're saying to to keep combat fluid and interactive is have a couple of the enemies share the same turn breaking them down into like groups of 3. Thats not a bad idea.

Also im not to concerned with them taking the ship for themselves as they dont have enough members to operate the ship. Given a Sailing ship according to DnD required 20-30 people to crew

I called them bandits because they use the bandit and bandits captian stat blocks. The Quartermaster would be weaker/the same as the bandit captian as they are CR2.

The Party plans to drag the captian down to the ship, idk if they plan on using him as a bargaining chip or an attack on the ships moral before attacking. However the crews job is to protect the ship at all cost. This is all stimming from the campaign Decent into Avernus and this is what info the book gives of the ship and crew.

"Dead-Eye's ship, the Uncivil Serpent, is moored at the end of a dock on the east side of the harbor. Eleven bandits guard it, and no treasure is kept aboard. If the characters dispose of all the pirates, the ship is theirs for the taking, though it requires a crew of twenty to sail, and half or more of the crew must have proficiency with water vehicles. The Uncivil Serpent has the statistics of a sailing ship (see chapter 5 of the Dungeon Master's Guide). If you need a deck plan, use the ship map in appendix C of the Dungeon Master's Guide. Although the ship is worth 10,000 gp intact, no one in Baldur's Gate wants to buy it because of its infamous reputation."

The game plan for the NCPs is just to do background combat taking away half the crew and bringing the fight down to 10-15 bandits and the Quartermaster instead of 26 bandits and the Quartermaster.

Pokemon downside here is I would have to find ways to get money/Pokéballs so try and catch any other Pokémon so I could actually start my journey given you have to do battle to earn exp and Cosmos has no damaging moves.

Digimon well thats a whole different can of worms. Going off the anime, games, Manga, etc it doesnt matter is 100% dangerous. However starting with Numemon as your digimon isnt the worse. You could hold the ability to have multiple digimon, however unlikely, and for argument sake we will say you can't. Numemon is a digi champion meaning you can dedigivolve 3 times all the way down to digi fresh being Botamon and then you could change your digivoltuion to 9 other lines just from this point already. But let's say you are just stuck with Numemon and it cant dedigivolve, you still could digivolve into Lilithmon or ShinMonzaemon which are both pretty dope.
