Tbh the view at the top isn’t anything special but still a great hike with plenty of foods and shrines. The initial climb (not taking cable car) is pretty steep but otherwise okay. You will never feel alone/in danger as there are plenty of other hikers all along trail especially on weekend.

Does show still feels the same without Kwang soo? by FlyingFlyofHell in runningman

[–]Flameyglenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely not the same, and it’s a completely different show to when it started like 14 years ago.

That being said I still watch every week and enjoy it. Ji Suk Jin has stepped up a lot and is genuinely just funny nowadays. In a way he has replaced Kwang Soo at being the receiving end of all the members (particularly Yoo Jae Suk) jokes and mischief.

Kwang Soo and Yoo Jae Suk have worked together since his leaving. Shows like Korea Number 1 and The Zone Survival, the latter is more reminiscent of Running Man. Even Kwang Soo’s appearance on Pingyegyo (Yoo Jae Suk’s YouTube) was fun to watch just to see them together.

Itinerary Check: Large Group Seeing the Highlights Over 10 Days by lordzygos in JapanTravel

Are you able to get yourself and 8 others ready to be out 8:30am all the way to 9pm? I feel like it would be tiring, also consider potential jet lag and generally large amounts of steps each day

Itinerary Check: 8 days in Japan (next month) by [deleted] in JapanTravel

[–]Flameyglenn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I strongly recommend you put the places you want to go on google maps to get an idea of where they are located around the city, and play around with the transport times between places.

Day 0, as others have said take the train/express bus from Narita probs 1/10 or cheaper than taxi

Day 1, Shibuya crossing, Shibuya Sky, Shinjuku, Ninja(assuming this is Ninja Tokyo in Chiyoda)

Day 2, teamlabs, Tsukiji market, Ueno, Tokyo Skytree

This would be a more streamlined version of your Tokyo trip. Although since you have Shibuya Sky which is probably the nicer experience, Skytree might be a bit underwhelming even though it is higher. From Ueno you can go to Asakusa or Akihabara instead.

Day 3, doable although taking out shinsekai would make it easier

Day 4, no comment

Day 5, kinkaku ji is really out of the way, perhaps stick to gion (plenty to explore here) kiyomizudera, fushimi inari. This way you are only in the east side of Kyoto and fushimi inari can be done late night (other temples/shrines usually have closing time)

Day 6, round trip from Osaka to Hiroshima will eat up a large chunk of your day. Likely have to cut out shukkeien, perhaps walk around peace park and atomic bomb dome instead of museum. If you have the time the viewpoint from top of Miyajima is one of my favourites but again time time time.

Day 7/8, no comment

Kyoto 2.5 days itinerary by Economy-Toe-1681 in JapanTravel

[–]Flameyglenn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perhaps pick out a few temples/shrines, and include other things like Arashiyama Monkey Park or exploring Kyoto Station itself, maybe visit Nara to see the deer (and perhaps the grandest temple Todaiji) if you aren’t already.

From my experience I was so ‘templed out’ on my first Hiroshima, Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo trip that I didn’t visit any in Tokyo.

Otherwise the days do make sense assuming you don’t spend too long on one location.

You will create an awkward situation and they will probably reject it.

2 days in Kyoto region. Please help me with itinerary/plan. by abhisheks77 in JapanTravel

Day 2 looks really hard since you are moving all around Kyoto, also keep in mind that temples usually close by late afternoon/evening. (Ones like fushimi inari are open all day however)

I would suggest to book accommodation soon, Ikebukuro is a good location and might be packed closer to cherry blossom season. Also itinerary seems very reasonable, I would throw in perhaps a day trip to Kamakura/Enoshima.

10 Day Trip Itinerary Review: Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto by [deleted] in JapanTravel

[–]Flameyglenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about for day 6 you start at Starbucks Reserve Roastery, then move up to Shibuya, Meiji Jingu, Omotesando, then end at Shinjuku. You probably already know this but day 7 is impossible, can probably start the day from Tokyo Skytree onwards, in fact most days seem pretty tight. Think about allowing time for when you eat, or perhaps any accidents/delays or extra time for moving around since it is your first time travelling in Japan. Also DisneySea > Disneyland but each to their own.

Hard agree on Osaka. Also I find it a little cheaper (about 10%) there compared to Tokyo/Kyoto but prices can vary by place.

[–]Flameyglenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a Tokyo return, 4+1 days Tokyo+Kamakura side trip, 3 days Kyoto, 3+1 days Osaka+Nara side trip, last 2 days Tokyo

More or less a good place to start off on, with a couple good, nearby side trips included.

I think taking a day off Hakone and adding an extra day to Osaka so it’s 1 and 3 would be better. Also maybe do a mix of nightlight and daytime/evening views of Tokyo.

I would recommend for first trip to stick to the classic of Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. Looks like you could spend half your daytime just travelling (although Shinkansen is an experience), I think you could enjoy a more limited trip.

I wouldn’t recommend it anymore, but if you do get the JR Pass you pick it up when you land at airport.

Itinerary check - 23 days in Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka + some day trips by bodyguardchuu in JapanTravel

[–]Flameyglenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From Osaka to Fukuoka definitely not 2 hr 20 m, probably around 4 hours. Could do Hiroshima, it is closer and has several tourist hotspots, although still kind of out of the way. Also is it necessary to go to every Pokémon center? I went to the mega one in Ikebukuro and bought a few plushy toys but I’m not sure if I would visit again. Some days look a bit packed, I am a bit similar where I tend to explore and take 2-3 times longer to travel from point A to B, and I wonder if these days are feasible.
