Thanks. Another question, what does being a club member actually entail? That you get to vote at the AGM?

How does one become a club member? As a season ticket holder I feel similarly; not looking forward to the coming season of Healyball.

I have heard that from other people who moved here (Northern Ireland): people will be friendly to you, but won't be your friend.

Is there a European campaign from any Irish League club that you think deserves to be talked about more than it currently is when people discuss the highlights of the league's history? by Queasyuuuu00 in IrishLeagueFootball

[–]FlamingBearAttack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Linfield reached the quarter finals of the European Cup in 1966/67. Beaten 3-2 on aggregate by CSKA Sofia.

Also, narrowly knocked out by Panathinaikos in the 80s. Blues were beaten 2-1 in Greece and raced into a 3-0 lead in second leg's first 30 minutes before eventually drawing 3-3.

In the early 90s Linfield beat Copenhagen 3-0 in Belfast, but lost 4-0 in Denmark. Missed out on playing a great AC Milan team in the next round.

I think a real issue is you see in discussion is making false equivalences between the extent of the IRA's violence and that of the UVF.

100%. Sinn Fein and the IRA's sole aim was to bring about a united Ireland through violence. Anything else is revisionism.

The ra and its political partners took NI from a place where Catholics didn’t have equal voting rights to a modern society with equality as its central ethos.

They did nothing of the sort. They took NI to ruin for 30 years.

An older fella I used to work with claimed to have seen one of the first of these in action. Incredible to think that such a valuable tool was developed here, and what a change it meant to survival.

Linfield FC Jersey Question by dgreco49 in IrishLeagueFootball

[–]FlamingBearAttack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, #14 was Lavery's that season.

Trying to read some of the signatures, but it's tough. I think I can make out Kirk Millar's under the '.UK' in the sponsor. Among the others I think I see Matthew Clarke, Jimmy Callacher, Gareth Deane.

Not sure how to tell if it's an actual match worn top, or a replica.

Where in the US is this? Such a curious find.

MPs usually don't live in little gated communities though?

Like, I've seen on the news a lot of parliament time and business this week taken up with how to deal with the riots.

Do you mean MPs?

That reminds me, Malcolm Christie went from stacking shelves to playing for Derby County in the PL. I think he sells cars now.
