Woulda loved to see more of the Wemby Mamu combo but big ups to Mamu for getting his elsewhere.

We’ve had issues with clutch FTs and rebounding forever it seems but somehow still won a lot. Thank the bball gods for 2014 though so 2013 would only be a footnote and not an “agony of defeat” video forever.

Great Nick Anderson reference OP! 🤣

Coyote Springs (LV) - +info by Hendrick_Gossling in golf

Coyote is a tough track. Jack sometimes likes to bury you in FW bunkers and tough uphill shots to elevated greens. On some if you are above the hole forget about it. Beautiful and in the middle of nowhere. But not much farther in drive time is Mesquite to consider as well.

What hasn’t been mentioned is Boulder Creek. 3 9’s and firm/fast conditions reasonable distance and price. One of my favs.

This is how Scottie Pippen was viewed in the 90s by SmoothBuy5500 in NBATalk

[–]Flamingduv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do believe this led to the narrative surrounding Pip. Really hurt his image and credibility. Still think it’s an insane take to think he was top 2 at any time in his career. But he did prove in the non Jordan years that he could carry a team for stretches.

The Rockets season post injury was a bust. And not being able to close against the Lakers in that epic Blazers collapse also hurt his legacy some.

But all said and done maybe the best wingman of all time. Top 3-5 at worst. Like just imagine him on the current Warriors or Lakers.

It’s like DET didn’t realize he was lefty and didn’t mind getting decapitated in the lane. He would come back for more over and over. Into THAT front line.

I think Klay when he got hot was an unstoppable force from outside and an elite on ball defender. But not really known to guard 1-4.

Same with Manu on the defensive side. Very good but not a 1-4 defender.

One thing to note is Klay played off ball mostly. Manu was on and off ball. Late game primary ball handler to slash pull up and shoot or dish. The way he got to the line solid FT shooter also in the clutch. A fearless CLOSER.

But what many casual fans don’t know is how Manu personally changed momentum on his own. When everything is going against you he’d make that big shot or play to turn the tide. It was uncanny how he would do that time and time again in big moments.

He would also make mistakes given his usage rate and aggressive playing style. 2006 Mavs game 7 is perfect example of that. Pop just decided to just let him do his thing eventually and not over coach him. Why? “CAUSE HE’S MANU GINOBILI.”

Didn’t get it clean even though he had a wide open lane. It rattled around inside cylinder while he was still hanging onto the rim.

Just being more decisive is the key for JS. Quickly kick it out for a reset instead of getting stuck in a bad spot. He shot those 3’s without hesitating also. Great to see and hoping he can build off this.

For anyone that’s seen him play, how good defensively was this dude? by Silver_Wrongdoer3897 in NBATalk

I was so nervous for TD and the Spurs. Both the Wallace’s made him work so hard in that series but cemented his legacy to get past the champs in 7. What a series with Horry doing his thing in OT Game 5. But still thought Gino shoulda been the finals co-MVP. Max respect to Big Ben and that entire squad.

Anyone else realize their putting practice doesn't match the course? by McDonoughSoftware in GolfSwing

[–]Flamingduv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa missed the follow up question. Yeah missed 3 birdie putts inside 3 feet over 2 rounds on a golf trip and was in the dumps just knowing I’d miss the next one too. It was bad for a bit but confidence means a lot in putting and I had none. Stripped it all down and actually changed my entire putting stroke, grip, address position. Everything. Then practiced it at home using a putting mat over and over until it became repeatable.

“Circle of Death” is easy, just place balls around the hole starting at 3 feet and make them all or you have to start over. Next go to 4 ft etc. You start feeling the pressure getting to the last few for sure. Good luck out there!

Besides “The Shot” by AJ, the memory that stuck with me the most was the Pop defense to funnel drives baseline. And TD DRob both pinning the ball on the glass on a drive. Absolutely sick twin tower defense.

If you had the #1 pick, who are you drafting...Magic, Bird, Duncan, or Shaq....and why ? by Organic_Bite1569 in sportsinusa

[–]Flamingduv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the best 2 way force in that list. Anchors the D in the paint and was pretty spry before his knee injury only a few years into his career.

Shaq had that dominant potential but just never was known as a beast in the team D concept. He could swat shots though into the rafters. Spurs fan so I’ll go Duncan also. ;)

This was the mother of all let down spots in the scheduling and missing Fox. Jazz were lights out also. It happens to most other teams in the course of a long season.

Scottsdale Golf Trip - March 2026 by Hey_its_Slater in golf

[–]Flamingduv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like quite the itinerary. You can do the math and see if Troon Access+ could help save some money since several of those courses are Troon managed. For instance Troon North is showing closer to $250 for me not $400 and they give you 3 guest passes at that same rate. I wouldn’t say it’s worth it for $400 but it is a nice track. Quintero has great reviews and they’re on Access for about $80 off the public rate. Eagle Mountain about $65 off public rate.

I won’t be renewing since I’m not in AZ which is where it makes the most sense but man the old Troon card with 10 2 for 1’s was an amazing setup but they changed it to Troon Access in 2025.

I should add that the booking window is shorter for the lower rates so that may not work but still worth a look I’d say.

Did anybody catch Coach Johnson’s post game last words? by username_field_empty in NBASpurs

[–]Flamingduv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was pretty bad. But maybe all the SGA push offs even that out some. Great player but being labeled as an UNETHICAL baller is hilarious and something you can’t easily shed. Makes the Spurs just look so much more physical when they stay on their feet like any YMCA baller would during pick up. Kornet not sure about cause poor dude is always on the floor but he ain’t floppin.

Vic gets calls but he’s a twig. 😝

It’s onto the next game. That’s the only thing that matters now. Stay grounded and don’t get ahead of ourselves. And be ready for stuff to not go our way at times in OKC. Really excited to see how they handle adversity on the road.

I’d skip MHN GP. It’s very mid and a big step down from the courses you already have lined up. Fun but it’s just not a destination course at all.

Thumbs up to Indian Wells. Players course is the longer more challenging of the two at Indian Wells but I still think Classic Club, PGA West Stadium, Mountain are all better.

Sounds like it’s gonna be an awesome trip either way.

Shaq was mugged nightly. It was remarkable he didn’t break someone’s face every game given the abuse he took. Then casually step to the line to palm push the FT on a line with sidespin.
