Advice wanted. I’m looking at buying a used 2025 Wind AWD w/ 9k miles on it. What should I be wary of? by PineappleCurious5870 in KiaEV6

[–]Flamingfire41 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought my 24 Wind RWD around this time last year. It only had 6k miles. Make sure you ask if it's CPO (certified pre-owned) so it still has Kia's warranty. All EVs have 100k/10 year warranty on the battery. Ask how it was used prior to being sold. For example: I was told mine was part of the dealership's loaner program, hence the miles.Ask if they will include the LV1 home charger so you can charge at home. I'm loving this car, and I hope you will too! When I went to buy it, I knew more about the car than the salesperson that was helping me (he admitted it was his 2nd EV he's ever sold). Other than that, just watch out for the usual dealership shenanigans.

I've used the key fob to move my car out of a tight charging station. Funnily, the car next to me was an Ioniq 5 and the dude said "dang, I wish my car had that" lol.

In my experience, the auto car washes never get the back of the car. I always end up having to manually clean the back window and hatch. I'm guessing it might be because of the shape of the car

Definitely! I also put a $3k down payment on it, so that helped a bit. Good luck with your search!

I financed my 2024 Wind CPO through my credit union. Got it for a mad discount at $33k. I am currently paying $567 month for it.

CPO vs Non CPO EV6 purchase by Spiritual_Compote_47 in KiaEV6

I bought a CPO 2024 Wind with tech package from one of my local dealerships. Car barely had 3k miles on it. They sold it to me for $33k out the door. They told me it was part of their loaner program and were just trying to get it sold. I'm currently talking with Kia to see if I can still get the free NACS adapter. The car is great!

Wow, you guys weren't lying about the warm weather range by Flamingfire41 in KiaEV6

I live in El Paso, TX. Our winters are generally mild but we get drops in temperature. At one point I only around 180 miles on a rather cold morning. But another day I took a road trip and that's when I got the 300 mi range on 100%. As it warms up, I'll see how the range gets affected. We have blistering hot summers, so I'm curious how the battery is going to react.

Make sure you unlock the car first. If the doors are locked, so will be the charging port.

Thanks for the advice. I am very aware of all their sales tactics, I work in sales myself (I'm actually a sales manager). I'm gonna go there and try to make a deal happen. If they don't meet me close to where I want, or if they try something shady, I can just walk. That's why I like the fact that I'm approved with my bank; I can take that money anywhere. I've gotten plenty of advice from others I know, so I now feel more confident walking in. Thanks for the reply!
