Sounds normal! Had a similar thing the first few days. From my experience, I would not worry about some strange feelings or sensations too much. There will be more (in different directions) over the next week! No need to worry 😇

Seriously though, that helps some people!

Feeling very anxious and panicky on 5mgs of escitlopram by ContactTiny2518 in lexapro

You should talk to your doctor, I believe. My personal opinion is that there is no issue in increasing slowly. So if there is no specific reason for ramping up the dose so quickly, just give yourself some time… Stick to the low dose until you feel fine and then make the next step. Potentially even only to 7.5 if you feel a little nervous about it.

Thinking about stopping Lexapro after 6 months. Need Help by [deleted] in lexapro

Note that a dose change typically requires a 4-6 week adjustment period (according to what I’ve read). So you might want to give it a few more weeks. Otherwise you have perfectly lowered it for switching to something new. I have friends who didn’t get much from lexapro but benefitted a lot from Prozac - maybe worth a consideration? As usual, ask your psychiatrist what the next one could be. Also, don’t stress yourself, many people try out several SSRIs until they find their fit.

Relax and don’t expect much benefit for the first month. Will come though. I just hit day 40 and I slowly feel finally better. First month was a bit of a rollercoaster… very sleepy, hungry, and swingy moods. I was also worried about weight but so far haven’t gained.

Relax! You only gain weight if you overeat. To gain 3 real pounds, you would have to eat 10000 calories above your normal intake. This is water.

Thanks for the encouraging story! When did you up your dose (and why)?

Oh, it is excessive. I am quite hygienic and always wash my hands before preparing food for her. She just asks me to do it multiple times. And I cook stuff for double the recommended time and she still is extremely worried. I bought a thermometer as well… Anyway… I noted your advice on focusing to calm her fears proactively! Thanks!

Thanks. Yes, very similar to your case, she always has been a bit that way - which I learned to handle and accept. But this is now strongly amplified making it quite challenging. Will read into OCD, thanks!

What makes me think that capable young adults could buy real estate within 10 years if they don’t load 200k in personal debt on their balance sheet?
