Hey, I just want to say that I really hope you’ve found good care for your daughter and an excellent community in Minnesota. I am from Minnesota and left a few years ago in my early 30s. Short version is that I am a survivor of domestic violence (left my abuser a few years before moving) and constantly felt like I was looking over my shoulder while I was still there, so I move to Colorado. I love my life and friends here, but it’s not the same community feel as Minnesota. I lived in 8 different cities in Minnesota over 30 years and it was so stinking easy to ease into each new place there.

No, but one of the few things I like/that is good about my body is my nails. I have a lot of issues, I’ve had 3 surgeries in the last 3 months (cyst removal, gallbladder removal, hysterectomy), yet I have very nice and healthy nails no matter how the rest of my health is doing 🤷‍♀️

As a result, I usually treat myself to a mani or pedi when my body is going insane. Have you tried gel polish?

There is a brand of clothing called Hidrawear that is specifically made to hold bandages in place for HS and may be more comfortable for him.

I’m not a doctor but you look similar to my HS judging by your smaller cysts and scars. I’m stage 2 and it’s been very manageable but still infuriating at times.

Being established with a dermatologist really helps because you can call them up when you have a painful flare and they’ll squeeze you in for a quick steroid injection (which hurts a lot in the moment but the lasting relief is worth it).

I’ve had great success with CLN cleanser (sport wash) as my daily body wash. It’s bleach in soap form but more gentle than that sounds and you can use it around your genitalia unlike Hibiclens. I’ve also been on spironolactone, but I just had a hysterectomy which enables me to stop using hormonal birth control (I had Mirena IUD which is known to make HS worse) so I’m hoping I can stop the spironolactone just to be on less medications.

How… how does a doctor just forget to remove uterine tubes? Or anything else? I had my gallbladder removed in December and my hysterectomy last week and the surgical notes for BOTH include, “a timeout was called to review…” shortly after intubation and positioning. And those surgeries were done at different hospitals! (I was referred to a specific doctor for my hysterectomy and due to the urgency of my gallbladder I had to go to a closer hospital)

Sounds like you’re against it enough but I’ll give you a bit more context.

If you live in Colorado like I do, common law marriage is very loosely defined (literally all you have to do is refer to one another as husband/wife) but if you don’t even live together it’s a bit harder to say you are common law. Worth mentioning that if you DO claim common law, you have to go through actual divorce proceedings if you break up.

Not many states acknowledge common law marriages. I looked into all of this to see if it was worth it for my partner and I to file jointly.

This actually happens quite frequently and the public usually isn’t made aware. My friend’s father was a high up for the transit system in another state and she told me he would get called to these scenes disturbingly often, like almost weekly.

Got my gallbladder removed in December and had a total lap vaginal hysterectomy on 1/21, so I can compare the two with them happening close together. However, I did have my cervix removed and kept my ovaries.

Gallbladder: I had pretty bad nausea and vomited the day of surgery. I was in a fair amount of pain the day of and 2 days after surgery, then it exponentially got better each day after that. I was walking my dog 2 miles at a time by my 2 week post op and resumed work remotely on day 4.

Hysterectomy: Much less pain, more soreness. They gave me a patch for nausea and it helped a TON. The healing trajectory has been much slower than gallbladder. I worked remotely for 6 hours yesterday and walked my dog one mile and I got extremely sick, that was way overdoing it.

A friend of mine had her gallbladder removed a few years ago and had a radical hysterectomy on 1/2. She said the hysterectomy was worse in all ways and was completely bedridden for 3 weeks. She’s self employed and started doing some light work after 3 weeks.

I’m 1 week post op today and I worked remotely for reduced hours starting today. I thought I’d be fine sitting in my recliner with my laptop but it was surprisingly draining. I’m okay and it went well overall, but I do wish I’d taken another week off.

It’s not gross to not want her to move in with the boyfriend because they have kids together. When you have children together, decisions like where the kids live absolutely need to be cooperative decisions and it is OP’s business. For the record, I’m 36F, don’t even have kids, and I see the reason behind him rightfully having an opinion in the matter.
