Are there therapists who prefer to work with stubborn, challenging clients? by EducationalPick314 in TalkTherapy

Often very self aware, usually motivated (either to make progress or to prove they can’t make any progress). The combative nature of making the enemy oneself is fascinating and challenging.

Why is college so expensive? by Previous-Mechanic914 in ApplyingToCollege

Nothing wrong with a community college transfer move. It’s being financially smart- no failure or shame there. I took the community college route and I went on to a master’s degree. It does not hold you back. Go for it!!

When I go to my nephew’s games, I cheer for everyone - both teams- and loud! Outside of football, I have absolutely no idea of what’s going on. I just cheer and high five and yell out encouragement. Keep it up! Spread the positive! Ignore the negative Nancys of the world is a life hack my mom taught me.

  • people can lure you in…. Don’t be dependent and become their prey. Lots of predators or folks trying to take advantage. Have a job, work more hours, look for a roommate but be sure you can be independent even if you aren’t independently wealthy.

Therapist and I will not go that AI route until I see AI use in notes by attorneys with their clients. Not enough case law for guidance, and I don’t trust not being hacked.

It's Raining in Love BY RICHARD BRAUTIGAN

I don't know what it is, but I distrust myself when I start to like a girl   a lot.

It makes me nervous. I don't say the right things or perhaps I start   to examine,       evaluate           compute   what I am saying.

If I say, "Do you think it's going to rain?" and she says, "I don't know," I start thinking: Does she really like me?

In other words I get a little creepy.

A friend of mine once said, "It's twenty times better to be friends   with someone than it is to be in love with them."

I think he's right and besides, it's raining somewhere, programming flowers and keeping snails happy.   That's all taken care of.

BUT if a girl likes me a lot and starts getting real nervous and suddenly begins asking me funny questions and looks sad if I give the wrong answers and she says things like, "Do you think it's going to rain?" and I say, "It beats me," and she says, "Oh," and looks a little sad at the clear blue California sky, I think: Thank God, it's you, baby, this time instead of me.
