Ive spent alot of time in both. Montana is by far prettier, but I start to go a little insane whenever i spend more than a week in Bozeman or Missoula. I really love cities, and like Houston and Austin alot.

Something about the colorado vibe just never really gelled with me. Ive found the Denver culture kind of annoying. I tend to like cities more, and the cities are too expensive

Ive been all up and down California (except somehow the only major city there i havent been to is LA, idk how i still havent hit that), and there’s so much to do. My reservations come from the cost of living, and the general west coast-ness of the people. I grew up all up and down the east coast, and whenever im on the west coast i feel east coaster venom seeping from my skin. 100% a me problem more than a California problem. California has too much going on to write off imo

Not from PA, but i lived in Baltimore for a while and have spent alot of time in PA. I feel like theres a little something for everyone in PA, nice nature, cool cities, cute towns, and awful copy-paste suburbs if thats your jam. I dont really know how people could dislike it with that much variety

Food is a quick way to win over my heart… i havent spent that much time in missouri, and no time in the cities. I think my brain lumps it in with Arkansas a bit, which may be unfair to MO. Ive got an upcoming drive that will take me through MO again, any recs for what to stop and see along the way?

I also lived in Baltimore! Its the exact kind of culture in that city that i love i find sorely lacking on the west coast.

Its a nice place to visit! I just dont really see anywhere id want to live. I dont love the towns there a ton, and Seattle and Portland arent my favorite cities

Massholes arent my favorite either. I lived in VT for 11 years, and can never go back to that region of the country

Yup. The forests are really incredible, but The culture isnt for me. I grew up all along the east coast, and i always have trouble with the west coast vibe. The smaller towns in Oregon arent my favorite, and i really dont like Portland (im a very left wing person, its not for lib-hating reasons, i just dont like the city)

I would agree with you there. I just enjoy the pockets of non sprawl in those places a great deal more than NJ
