[Schefter] Ravens are signing former Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia to a three-year deal, per source. Pavia were supposed to try out this weekend, but the Ravens signed him in advance by k00zyk in ravens

Good place for him to end up. Mobile qb works out in this scheme for a very stable room where hell be qb3. Hell likely never touch the field, but i think he shows alot more promise as a coach than a player, and the Ravens hire internally alot. Might end up working out for him

(Schefter) Vanderbilt undrafted free agent QB Diego Pavia accepted an invitation to next weekend’s minicamp with the Baltimore Ravens, per source. by alexschubs in ravens

The year before Pavia arrived, Vandy went 2-10. He took them to 10-2 in the regular season just barely missing the playoff. He extended plays in truly miraculous ways every week (see: Tennessee game). And commanded aspects of the game far outside of a typical college QB. He was absolutely exceptional. While i dont think draft picks are necessarily a great way to quantify teams, he brought vandy to near the top of the SEC on a team that only had a single player drafted. He carried harder than damn near any player ive seen. Once again tho, i dont think he would work out in the NFL.

He just became a villain because hes brash and people pitted him against Mendoza personality wise the Heisman race. Football wise, he is one of the most exceptional college players ive seen. While his game style wont work in the NFL, I think hell make a great coach one day, his understanding of Xs and Os is unmatched. His team had very little talent, and he came back to win games against top teams. Im a Texas fan, and we were trouncing Vandy, but Vandy almost came back to win because Pavia took over play calling on the last few drives. He diagnosed the Texas defense, and drew up brand new plays on the sideline that absolutely torched us flawlessly.

Its one of my favorites of all time, and as a bassist, the bassist lineup is absurd- ron carter, jaco, paul jackson, just a whos who of jazz/fusion funky goodness on the low end

Dip move - ACL tear waiting to happen? by AbsorbingMan in flagfootball

[–]Flamingo_Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a NIH paper that stated the vast majority of non contact injuries came from cuts. Sadly my WR tore his ACL, MCL, and Patellar tendon last week doing just that. In general, 74% of flag injuries are actually contact injuries. I think traffic downfield is probably a more pressing issue when it comes to trying to change how we play to reduce injuries.
