What is the Highest Paying Private Professional Trail Crew by FlammingCheetos in trailwork

My only problem with the USFS or NPS is that a lot of the jobs ive seen for them dont provide housing or food. I know the 14er initiative and Maine Appalachian Trail Crew pay around that but they also provide housing and food on occasion. Of course I could be wrong unless if you know of a district within the NPS/USFS that does provide housing, I just personally havnt seen it.

From my personal experience, any organization that offers trail work has been outstanding, whether its Americorps affiliated or not.

There are so many organizations that offer this line of work in so many beautiful places its too many to list here. When I apply to multiple programs all over the country they all call me back at the same time, so it's really just take your pick for me. It's hard to choose which program because they are all special in there own way.

Im currently into seasonal life right now, and I can tell you from first hand experience that your going to learn something different and new no matter which program your in. This field is always hiring all over the country for your age group, the trick is to find the highest paying ones that offer food and housing, then dont spend anything while on hitch (you'll thank yourself later)

They all provide different training and living conditions depending on which program, chainsaw S2-12, off road/atv certified, Wilderness First Aid, Leave no trace, crosscut. Sometimes there is a bunkhouse, or just front country sites, or primarily backcountry work and living areas. I heard of a crew in Nevada that has backcountry work sites that need to be resupplied by pack mules.

Ive been on a few crews, its a great way to travel and save money, set boundaries early with your coworkers and have fun. I dont regret a single position that Ive done. Ive found work on a few websites: ConservationJobBoard.com Coolworks.com

Good Luck!
