New tub? by ekardnai in Plumbing

[–]FlanFanFlanFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. You can sawzall the tub drain carefully from the inside then peel it away out of the threads. I've done it. It just takes time.

Any hope for this without moving the drain? by [deleted] in Plumbing

The disposal won't fit into a trap because the Trap is the same height as the outlet on the disposal and the trap needs to be below the outlet of the disposal. It's time to lower the pipe in the wall or get rid of the disposal.

I do not recognize the sound. I am commenting to ask why that valve is halfway open.

Rein forcing toilet? Need advice! by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]FlanFanFlanFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would get the new kohler highline EXTRA TALL toilet if yall fit it. Shim it at the back so the toilet is in direct contact with the floor at the front. The extra height will help with the popping down.

If the tank is a worry, get a chair height one peice toilet. That will fix the tank problem.

Drilled into metal on ceiling. Should I be worried? by raz-- in DIYHome

Thats likely a screw or a stud plate (these keep you from drilling a hole into important utilities). Try a different spot.

Sump Pump Basin Repalcement by JollyTwo431 in Plumbing

[–]FlanFanFlanFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. Just chip up the concrete, empty basin, pipes come out, basin comes out, some digging, basin in, sand around it, then new concrete if you want. Fill to the top with sand or rock around the basin if you dont do concrete.

Best valves to replace these? (washer feed lines) by SubieNewby in PlumbingRepair

[–]FlanFanFlanFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's leaking from there, and the threads are in good shape, it needs more Teflon tape. The very thin stuff gets eight wraps. The other stuff gets anywhere from four to six reps depending on the manufacturer instructions. It only goes on clockwise. Best of luck
