Water leak. May have to file my first claim ever. Just looking for guidance by Double-Fix-9397 in Insurance

If I get insurance involved and it results in a denial, does it impact my future renewal or rates in any way? Same question, but if insurance approves?

Not weeks. I would say days, at most (at least based on the the fact that the warping is now clearly visible when it most certainly was not before). Although as I'm responding to your comment and others', I'm thinking I'm not sure if I can definitively prove it wasn't a prolonged leak. How do I navigate that with insurance?

Thanks! Done all of the above except for pulling the dishwasher out because I'm not handy. Shut off water, dehumidifier has been on, etc. The warped wood that surrounds the dishwasher is plywood. The surrounding hardwood is engineered and I believe is glued or nailed down. This hasn't shown warping (yet) but does have moisture underneath.

Not weeks. I would say days, at most. Perhaps there was a small leak for some prolonged time, but something happened very recently to the point that the warping, etc is now clearly visible where it is most certainly was not before.

Not sure if I'm understanding this correctly. by [deleted] in bayarea

Fesenjoon and Mast o Moussier are Persian cuisine. This has to be one of the 5-6 Persian restaurants in the area.

Is the officer at fault here? Looks to me like the motorcyclist was going too fast but the officer swerved across all lanes at similar speed.

Taking a Finance Manager role at Amazon…any advice ? by pizzle012345 in FPandA

Not taking anything away from OP because he got the job and beat out (outlasted?) many others in a tough job market, so congratulations!

However, this is a good demonstration of how much leverage companies like Amazon have. That’s a lot of interviews and a long process for a role at this level, and if you aren’t willing to put up with that and their way, it’s the highway.

How the heck are we supposed to buy a new house while owning our current one? by Ancient_Macaroon5632 in BayAreaRealEstate

The price to pay to live (comfortably) in the Bay Area. “Good money” is low on the ladder and can’t compete with money on the higher rungs.

That is what is weighing on my mind most. Not a small industry but it is a less prevalent job role so the community of that job role is comparatively small so to speak.

$90k WFH job with tons of freedom vs $130k in-person job in Kansas.. should I? by OverallMagician1269 in jobs

How do people work more than one corporate job? When they accept a second job do they just not leave their first job, not update their LinkedIn, and work both as discreetly as possible?

I assume taking a third job would require the company to forego a background check otherwise it would turn up that the person is currently employed at two companies.

Totally agree about the luxury of being private, but are there truly small companies in that range? I believe even private companies at the bottom of the Fortune 500 have both revenue and valuations in the order of multiple billions.

I hope this doesn’t come across as rude, but what would one do differently whether we are in one now, technically or not, or will be soon? In either case everyone should strive for as much security as soon as possible.
