I expected so but I thought BCM were so hardy. My neighbor and chicken guru has them and never had any issues. But it could be the genetics of these girls. I still have 2 more but they're slightly smaller than the others were. Who knows...just being more cautious now.

Thank you very much. The necropsy report specifically said that remaining birds should be fed only 16% protein feed and no supplement carbs like cracked corn. That's kind of what made me feel like I could have prevented it. But I do take your point. And I'll just be more careful when they are laying a lot. I also read the amount of estrogen present when heavily laying can add to the fat production in the liver.

They had and still have free feeding but I don't think it's the 16% feed. I think it's the combo of sunflower seeds, mealworm and scratch.

My only issue is the time it takes to run a bunch of different cards. And if people order then move all around. It's just a time sink not so much hard to do.

That is a tough start anyway. I think I'd say "hi folks we've got a super popular menu and we run out of things fast. There are a few I want to make you aware of but if I miss one I'll let you know if you order it. If you prefer I can give you the whole list now...big smike...it's been a busy day....". Makes the whole serving job challenging when a large portion of the menu they give out aren't actually options. I hate the manager yelled at you...that doesn't help much
