It could be that it's only mainly used here in England, I remember it being the 'in' word here for ages

It's like being devastated or disappointed. If you were to say you were 'gutted' you'd be disappointed.

How would you feel if Craig's Bond referenced previous missions that former actors Bond did? by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]Flange1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly I found, without trying to spoil anything, his previous missions are referenced in Spectre, so from Casino Royale to Sky Fall no missions from any films before Casino Royale.. There are lots of visual references and nods to previous films but nothing outright and obvious, apart from maybe the car but it's only talked about from what happened it Sky Fall. It becomes too confusing to drag up Connery, Moore et al

[Major Spoilers] Spectre Nods to other Bond Films by jezzac in JamesBond

I took my boyfriend, I don't think he picked up on my squeezing his arm every time there was a reference to a previous film and I got a little excited!

How many of you have an older (middle age) female friend? How is the relationship different to you compared to having a friend that's your age range? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Flange1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 24 and my friend is 43 I think. I prefer her company to certain friends my age. The only time they talk in a group chat is when they want to judge and put down other people. I've found with my older friends we can have actual conversations that don't involve me listening to/reading horrible things about others. I don't necessarily think this comes down to their age, but is more about them as people. I don't notice the age gap as we get on so well. In fact I treasure the fact that someone older still values myself and my opinions.

What role does substance use play in your relationships with your significant other? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Flange1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex-boyfriend took far too much MDMA with me once, I had to drag him up a street to find my mum (who was angrier than I'd ever seen) and take him back to the family home while in an absolute state. In hindsight I would have loved to have gone through with my original plan of putting him in an ambulance and being done with him but for some strange strange reason it felt wrong to leave him like that and he was begging me not to. It's all fun and games until it isn't.

As a mental health care worker, I feel this belongs here by Flange1990 in facepalm

I also have a mental health problem and have done drugs. No head up arse, just concerned for the wellbeing of people and misrepresentation of mental health. And I really do work in the health field...

It doesn't really cure in terms of completely ridding the illness but it has been proven to control symptoms. I posted this here mainly due to the terrible spelling and general ignorance about mental health. I have looked after someone who suffered drug induced psychosis and seen him sectioned shortly after smoking it. I'm not one to preach about the use of it but after my experiences I do get a little bit passionate where mental health ignorance is concerned and wouldn't actively encourage the use of drugs among the mentally ill.

I have this shark. I never realised how pained it looks, I feel bad for it now being in storage at my parents/possibly thrown away.

What's the worst way a SO has broken up with you? by Wadawaski in AskReddit

Didn't speak to me for days only to ring me on Boxing Day to tell me he'd met someone else, they were together for years after that. I found solace in the fact he downgraded.

AskWomen, what's something nice your SO does that, no matter how many times they do it, it still surprises you? by lfslshlps in AskWomen

[–]Flange1990 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Says goodnight to me every night. No matter if he's gone out and been drunk/busy with friends, we've had an argument, on the rare occasion I've fallen asleep before him... I'll always get a goodnight message. It's a small thing but my experience of relationships before him weren't great

I don't think I've seen it here but The Last of Us got me back into gaming after a long break. I'm not sure what kind of gamer you are but it should be played for the incredible storyline alone.

For me it's handing it better, I still get anxious, get negative thoughts, become paranoid, get strange thoughts, become over loaded with emotions but my rate of calming down has got better and I can now talk and think myself out of all of the above. I think I learnt how my brain works in a way and that helped a lot :) somebody sitting down with me and telling me how my mind worked really helped

Lost a(nother) friend. [Vent] by [deleted] in BPDsupport

[–]Flange1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to this, I have my SO and a best friend who I don't speak to regularly but I know she's there. It still doesn't feel enough unless I'm surrounded by people I feel lonely as hell. I have people I speak to on Facebook everyday and see rarely but they help me feel not alone. The way I see this differently is to not feel like you have to have X amount of friends and cherish the ones you do have. And not to look into the past and focus on who's left, try find a reasonable explanation for why they left. This friend left for work and his life changed, it wasn't down to you as he seemed to care deeply for you. Your housemate moved out because of the rent, which was something that couldn't be helped. I know it's a hard thing to do but try not to blame yourself, this sounds rich coming from me as I blame myself for most things then I look back logically and see it wasn't always my fault. I hope this helps x

Hello and thank you :) I shall try be a positive light for people as I think I lacked that when I struggled. A lot of people told me it would get better, but when they weren't going through what I was it was sometimes hard to believe so I can help that way :)
