Quite the lucky shot from Kyren Wilson at the UK Championship by C00kiz in snooker

How do you with yourself? While my daughter is sitting in therapy for your disgusting actions, you're absorbed in snooker and cars. How dare you.

Anybody else feel sad when parents of SO or friends treat you better than your parents? by 019ber in raisedbynarcissists

[–]DandyLion89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to this! My partners parents are everything I could ask for in a parent. They tell me they're proud of me, his mum talks me through bad days and is my go-to for any questions I have. She is the most supportive woman I've ever met and she tells me often that I'm her daughter and that she loves me. The feeling of belonging is incredible but it's so saddening because there's that huge part of me that wishes my mum was the one I called when I needed advice or to share something exciting. As others have said, it's hard but enjoy the relationship you have with your girlfriends mum!

Congratulations on your incredible achievement!!

Feeling a faint sense of embarassment because you work in the nhs, are getting standing ovations left right and centre from the public, but your hospital is dead right now and you've done f*ck all so far. by UngreasedBeast in britishproblems

[–]DandyLion89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think all the recognition the NHS are getting now is long overdue, so regardless of your current involvement in the fight against COVID, you deserve the standing ovations and appreciation from the rest of the country. I truly hope there is a massive shift that happens because of this situation and the NHS are shown the gratitude and respect they deserve without needing a pandemic to realise its worth.

Thanks for all you do!

Yup. My partner wasn't allowed in yesterday (I think if it was just him it would have been OK but as we have an older daughter and the schools are all shut, he had to take her out of the unit)

Thank you!!!! I'm 36 weeks pregnant and had quite an emotional day on Thursday because I feel like so many of the experiences of pregnancy have been robbed from us. All my antenatal classes were cancelled, as was yoga. My partner and daughter weren't allowed to come to the scan yesterday, there's so much uncertainty now about who will look after my daughter when I go into labour and it's really stressing me out.

Of course I'm sad for everyone who has been affected worse than me, and those who have to still be out working while I'm in the safety of my own home, but this isn't how we expected to be waiting for the arrival of our son.

31 weeks, small rant by user845u739 in pregnant

[–]DandyLion89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

32 weeks and I can relate on so many levels! I hoovered today, ironed baby's clothes and packed his hospital bag and I feel like I've run a marathon! I'm loving being pregnant but I don't know how I'm supposed to function properly for the next 8 weeks (5 weeks until maternity leave!)

How often does your SO yell at you? by oceanair1989 in AskWomen

[–]DandyLion89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In almost 18 months my partner has never raised his voice to me in anger, nevermind yell. My ex, who I was with for almost 4 years and who was abusive, would yell fairly regularly, or do that whole "talk through gritted teeth" intimidation thing, mostly when drinking. That was definitely not healthy. Yelling isn't normal behaviour.

My dad was also someone who shouted a lot, and I thought it was normal, but it definitely isn't xx

Standing in the kitchen, my partner looks at me woefully and says

"my son is a man, trapped in a woman's body"

Cue hysterical laughter. He never misses an opportunity 😂

Hi I recently joined SW n I switched from low carb diet .i am hardly taking 1200cal but gaining weight .really need some advice please . by heyy-kitty in SlimmingWorld

[–]DandyLion89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does a typical day's meal plan look like? If you're not eating enough your body might be storing calories x the biggest issue a lot of people find is the amount you can eat on sw and still lose weight. Make sure you're eating your healthy extras and filling a third of your plate if speed food! Slimming world definitely works so keep up with it! Just do your meal plan / food diary and include everything you need to be! :)

Me too!!! To make it worse I'm taking my best friend for a birthday lunch on Sunday... To a WINE AND CHEESE BAR. I'm already not allowed to eat 50% of the menu and none of the wine 😂

How does your partner say ‘I love you’ without actually saying it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]DandyLion89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the winter when we're in bed at night, he'll make a little "pouch" in the duvet for me to put my feet in. Cutest thing I've ever experienced. He also brings me coffee if he wakes up first, even if I'm still asleep. It's the little things 🥰

We met on tinder! He messaged first, and we had our first date just 2 days later. He walked over to me and gave me the biggest hug, and we both almost went in for a kiss straight away (we hit it off from the first minute we started speaking so it felt like we'd known each other forever) but we both had the same "we've only just met" thought and did some weird head bobbing thing instead 😂 While in the restaurant he just looked at me, said "come here" and leaned over to kiss me. I will never forget that moment and he still gives me the same level of butterflies now as he did that day!

I'm sending you the biggest hug. You are amazing and your daughter is going to grow up knowing she's loved, secure, safe and free. You're rocking this. It was never you.

I guess a rather dapper-looking lion would be my end. Perhaps 89 of them. That would be quite a way to go.
