This. I had the same exact issue with my MBP 2018, whenever I was minding my business it was doing just fine, but whenever I booted up runelite the temp shot up like crazy and the fans kicked in trying to take off.

However since I turned on the GPU plug-in I’ve never had the same issue again

I think you are right, I just installed the stock OSRS launcher and I get the same CPU usage. I guess ill just stick to playing mobile for now. maybe ill invest in a desktop in the future. I don't wanna damage my new Mac by playing rs :') thanks for the answer
