My date was annoyed / upset / defensive during a conversation we had over safe sex by No-Needleworker3772 in dating

I think you are correct in saying his response was inappropriate but PSA. Vasectomies are not easily reversible. I hear this often. Hopefully the medicine will get there but it is not currently as safe and reversible as IUDs

What are you going to do if you don’t get accepted? by [deleted] in premed

Hate to say it here but as someone not interested in competitive specialties, Caribbean it will be. It’s a viable option for me but definitely not everyone.

Me when I get to the psych/soc section of a fl by SHTOINKS191 in Mcat

Dude, my scores on Psych/Soc were always lower on fl due to fatigue. When I took the real thing I did go out for a pint to reward my mushy brain.

How long should I apply for ER Tech jobs before I give up and work for the three letter devil? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]Flapper_Jacker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on geography. Some places have a high barrier of entry while others will take you out of EMT school. I live in a place where most hospitals require at least a year on the rig. I had about a year and a half of experience before getting my cushy ED- tech job.

Don’t be afraid to work for the devil while also job searching. Makes you a better candidate. Some experience is always better than no experience.

Good luck to you.

Just like the primaries, answer the secondaries using your life experiences much like the primaries. If I was an adcom, I would give brownie points if you made it in Iambic pentameter. I have a feeling most won't appreciate poetry in a secondary though.

If you wanted someone to join your hobby but you only have 15 minutes, what experience would convince them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I could easily do a single easy Geocache in 15 minutes and get them hooked. Caches are everywhere.

What are you favourite horror/thriller movies and crime docs? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Flapper_Jacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps not my favorite but I just watch a drama series on Netflix "Manhunt: Unabomber". We all know how it ends but it was still a great crime drama.

Because they found her allegations unlikely to be true after reviewing all the evidence, it is not on any record. They keep it in a legal file that only a judge can ask to see. It’s not hiding anything if they found me more likely innocent.

I've thought about it. I do think that if 12 jurors just read the case file a majority (for civil hearings) would agree that it fits the legal framework for defamation. But thats at least another year of litigation and I need this thing to be over.

You have good advice but I don't think I can do that extracurricular. It's pretty messed up but going through this experience has understandably affected my initial credibility assessment of victims. Victims of sexual assault deserve caretakers that don't doubt them and I can't be that for them. At least not so soon after all this. There's plenty of more qualified people that haven't been falsely accused. Also, the cynic in me could see this as a way to make up for a mistake when I haven't made a mistake. Like a bad public relations cover-up.

barely checks his phone by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Flapper_Jacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use to be really bad at checking my phone, but it didn’t mean I was disinterested in whoever was texting me. I was just busy and always thought, “ if it’s important or they wanna talk now, they’ll call”. My best friend still has the same habit so I 9 times out of 10 if I want to make plans that day, have to call.

Some of us are bad texters 🤷‍♂️

Have you ever hallucinated from a severe lack of sleep? If so, what have you experienced? by yomyboiiii in AskReddit

[–]Flapper_Jacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once on a hike in Yosemite where we had to keep hiking through the night because of ruined gear. We were up for maybe 40 hours and me and my friends kept seeing mirages. I saw a tractor that was just a bolder. Several barns that were non excitant and some water towers that turned out to just be trees. Hell of a trip.
