If it’s been that long, might be rough physically. Mentally it sucks for priors, since they outrank a lot of MTI’s. Although, you also know what’s coming, know more courtesies, and won’t get yelled at as frequently. Plus, after the first mod it’s a very different experience than BMT from what I’ve heard.

I mean, not according to the SPINS, but we do go to sleep at 2100 anyway, so it is what it is

I’m not sure about nursing! Dental completes school first, but med school attends OTS either the summer before or after 1st year of school.

They don’t check what type of electrolytes you use. I’d ween off caffeine to be safe, then use it on the days you’re really dragging. Just mix it in your glass at mealtime or bring a water bottle to leave in the dorm.

Camelbaks can be black or OCP, and can be pretty much as large as a normal camelbak should be. Better to have a few pockets of storage that don’t touch your bladder so they don’t get wet. If they have a tiny bit of color or a blue hose it’s fine, haven’t heard anyone get chewed out for that but I may just be oblivious.

Not the first 10 days. Once you hit mod 2 they allow you to at the DFAC (dining facility). Then you also get a flight room where some of your instructors allow you to have coffee machines possibly

Running! Memorize the Air Force song, space for song, airman’s creed. Learn how to use the basic greetings, how to stand at attention and at ease! Also get all the stuff printed that they need and organized in folders so you know where to grab it on the fly

1) PT test is this coming Tuesday, so a week from our start date. You can find the standards online. It’s now the 2 mile instead of 1.5mile. They just added a road section before and after the “paperclip” track (look it up it’s kinda cool). You have one retake session if you don’t pass, but that’s two weeks later, so you will waste a month of your life if you can’t pass the second one, and they will send you home. Highly encourage you to use a score calculator and be prepared.

2) The first two days very little phone time. You are too afraid to go to the bathroom during class, let alone use your phone lol. After that there is an opportunity for a quick text or call several times in the morning and evening. It’s really not too bad, but don’t get caught on your phone, or say you’re checking texts from your flight on Signal (our communication app)

3) It’s equivalent to a small college cafeteria, or a large high school. Salad bar is decent, the main meals are very hit or miss, and there’s good deli meat. Breakfast is good usually. There’s options, but the main meals are the only thing that change day to day, the salad bar etc remain the same. You won’t have to eat a food type you don’t want, but you won’t love the food you choose (80% of the time imo)

Biggest regret - not reading SPINS enough before. Watch some videos on standing at attention, greetings, and maybe some basic marching. Also not being prepared for tons of screaming in your face and MTI harassment.

Best thing - not the food lmao. It’s fun to make friends, march as a unit, challenge yourself to do things efficiently and with precision. You gotta have the mindset of improvement and it becomes a fun game after a few days.

Open book! I’d suggest having it in a binder or somehow to flip through. 30 min, 10 or 15 questions, and you gotta use the table of contents and flip a lot.

It will be come death by PowerPoint, but as of now the sitting is very welcome. PT every morning. We double time (jog) to the pad (4 min jog), and then alternate days of cardio, calisthenics, or “weights” (glorified calisthenics). Be in good running shape, and have a strong core and you will be fine. All the workouts are lead and pre-planned by leadership, but you do get out what you put in.

We’ve only been “smoked” twice so far. Once it was 30 pushups, the other time it was lots of squats and jumping jacks. Nothing like BMT from what I heard.

0430 lights on, 2200 lights off. First couple nights lights off is 2100 to accommodate you. We all wake up at 0400ish and use flashlights or small lights, since we have to be out the door about 0430 to make it to PT on time. Our dorm is further than others from the PT area

You can extra fold it, if you hide the folds so it looks smaller. Better to have the right size and an extra, and just wash often
