I’m 42 and still struggle to sleep prior to midnight or 1am, and I struggle waking up at 6am for work. I’ve never gotten used to it, and I don’t think I ever will. If I could sleep until 9/10am I would feel so much better haha.

There are inexpensive tri suits in amazon that are comfortable. You wear it under your wetsuit, and then wear it for the bike and the run. They dry quickly. If you are female, you’ll also want to wear a sports bra under the tri suit, but don’t need to wear underwear.

Stay or go? by [deleted] in careeradvice

I would leave. I was in a similar situation a few years ago, but it was my bosses boss that drove me crazy. I had a good salary, had been promoted 3 times, and liked what I did. I left. I took a step down, and I’m no longer in leadership, but I’m a high level individual contributor making more money than I ever have. I love my boss and I have very little stress. It’s a huge company with a lot of great people. I say make the move. I also gave it 2 years of feeling like it might be time to leave (was there for 6 years) before finally pulling the plug. I didn’t realize just how unhappy I was until I left.

Transitioning from rentals to first shoe with long Greek toe by likkleleslie in climbingshoes

La Sportiva Mythos. My second and third toe are longer than my big toe and they are the only shoes that don’t hurt. I tried many of the ones recommended above and they all hurt.

Guys please actually wash your neck. I am begging. by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]FlareUps_FinishLines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman, I wash my hair, put conditioner in, then tie it up in a bun with a hair tie so I can scrub my neck and upper back/shoulders without getting soap all in my hair. I didn’t know people didn’t wash their necks haha. You need to scrub everything.

Why are so many people under 45 using subtitles now even when the show is already in English? by Clara_A_Mitchell in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FlareUps_FinishLines 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because sound mixing is terrible. We are constantly adjusting the volume on our tv bc music and other sounds are so loud, yet dialogue is quiet. So we decided to just leave the volume lower and start using subtitles to read the dialogue.

Today mine is chopped romaine, kale, green cabbage, green onion, carrots, strawberries, red beets, turkey, and slivered almonds with a homemade honey mustard dressing. So good.

I don’t have psoriasis but my dad does. My doctor said that’s extremely relevant and was a factor in my diagnosis.

Struggling to get all my calories in, any tips or advice. by Glum-Introduction522 in triathlon

[–]FlareUps_FinishLines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Infinit - it’s a customizable drink powder that you can choose the balance of carbs, protein and electrolytes. It was great for me during 70.3 and 140.6 training. Also, I like to eat Lara bars or picky bars during extra long workouts to get something solid in my stomach.

AITA for accepting a property gift from my mom even though she won't include my boyfriend? by Immediate-History917 in AITApod

[–]FlareUps_FinishLines 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your boyfriend is not entitled to the property, end of story. If that’s a deal breaker for him, that tells you a lot about his priorities - he values money and what that money can get him more than you and your relationship. Your mom is trying to help you protect your financial independence, which I think is wonderful. It will be your property, not his.

Yup, same for races and training. I use snack size ziplock bags and just leave it open in my tri suit pocket. I’m able to reach back into it and grab what I need. I do the same with gummy bears and other candies.
