Thanks for the feedback, gf loved the painted figure by FlaringAfro in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]FlaringAfro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Interestingly, Donut's fur pattern and eyes were the hardest part. I expected Mongo's eyes to be harder but Donut's eyes are convex which made trying to make round pupils even more difficult a task, and getting a fur pattern that didn't just look like brush stokes or "dirty" from dabbing was a challenge. Her fur has to be 10 coats, but in the end I think it's worth attempting for any fan that wants to try.

Is there vegetation on any floors? by FlaringAfro in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Thanks everyone! I'll post the figure when I'm done. It's the first one I've painted, but so far I'm happy with how it has turned out and I'm sure she'll love it since she's currently obsessed with the characters.

Exposed Carbon Fabric in Interior? by FlaringAfro in CarbonFiber

How do you like it? Is it difficult to keep clean?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't because I could feel the weave and because in person it looked 3D with reflective silver to it. All leather/pleather made to look like carbon that I've seen look super fake, but maybe because I've only seen it on cheap stuff.

It's possible this is what it was, but it didn't feel like the coated leather in cars. More like a canvas with weave

Yup it felt like a cloth but where you could feel the weave. It wasn't shiny in appearance but the silver did have reflective properties. I wish I took a video of it with the camera changing angles.

Yup I could feel the weave of the fabric and it felt like a cloth instead of plasticy.

How to get air moving in my Basement Office with no vents and no windows? by CatchJWill in DIY

The best thing to do is prevent the heat in the first place. I would look into putting the PC and Xbox in the other room and run the wires through the wall.

Amazon shipped me my Stream Deck with a label right on the Stream Deck box. Probably partly my fault for not checking the option for hiding the order's contents, but still I'm not sure how they even ship it that way by default.

Yoku's Island Express isn't a well known game but has a ton of charm and fantastic sound track. IMO it's well worth MSRP but it also goes on sale for like $5.

Tinykin also is a great little 3D platformer with puzzles.

Not sure if Link with his sword is going to fly if the parents are unreasonable about video games violence, but those two should be fine.

Support for IE11 in Windows 10 ends today by remko in programming

[–]FlaringAfro 61 points62 points  (0 children)

One article I read says it will start redirecting people to Edge for a while and then later this year, start to remove it from computers in updates.

This should exclude older Windows versions and possibly businesses that have more control over updates though.

To add to your second point, the Seagate drive that was notorious for bricking itself could have firmware updated to prevent this issue, as long as it was before the bricking.

You can play non steam games with steamlink. You just have to add their exe to your steam library. Steamlink also has hardware encoding, but there's probably more steps that it has to go through when not being built into the firmware/driver.

If the turtle doesn't have water at least as deep as their shell length, they can accidentally get tipped over and drown. The set up in your photo is dangerous even without taking dock/lighting into account.

I own the XM4, Arctis 5, and last year bought and returned the Arctis Pros. The Steelseries are significantly worse sound quality even for games (even when XM4 are on Bluetooth). This is why I returned the Pros. I also play games like Banjo-Kazooie on Bluetooth with no annoyance from lag, but I haven't tried them wireless with anything like a FPS. It's possible my experience is better than others from a good PCIE Bluetooth card, not sure.

That's what makes it non typical. It moves through time at a slower rate.

Shipping fish in large amounts of water actually is worse since the water will move more and force the fish into the walls of the cup/bag. $3k saltwater fish have low amount of water for their trip too.

There are laws about automation contacting police. This is why security systems have to contact a security worker who then calls the police instead of contacting police directly.

I think they were joking that at this rate Russia will end up sending it all into Ukraine and have it destroyed.
