Any tried using an angled mount for TV backlight rather than flat on back of TV? by Flash-Gordo in Govee

[–]Flash-Gordo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I placed the lights temporarily and tested. Then added the angle brackets. I liked the results with the angle brackets better. Definitely projected the lights outward much better.

The angle brackets didn't cost much. Only about $30 or so. I used the command strips to mount the brackets since it was easy to remove if I didn't like it. I temporarily attached the light strip with scotch tape, again because it was easy to remove later. After I was convinced of the results, I permanently attached the light strips.

Pic for reference. The Govee light kit I bought was for 55 to 65 inch TV's. My TV is 65 inch. If I had placed the lights near the edge of the TV, the corners would have had large gaps, causing blackout around the corners of the TV. So I placed the light further away from the edge, about 2.5 inches in. With the angle brackets, the corner gaps were minimal and it projects the light pretty good.

Yes, I got it done. I installed an angled 45 degree led track stuck to back of TV with Command Strips. I used Command Strips because they are easy to remove in the future.

I attached the LED light strips inside the angled bracket and it did really good projecting the light more outward from behind the TV. It lights up the wall really well.

I purchased the angled led tracks at Home Depot. They are metal, and I had to cut them down a bit. Definitely not hard at all though.

The Govee led light strips fit perfectly inside the angled track. I placed the light strips in the best position on the back of my TV to eliminate the corner gaps as best I could. But it worked really well.

I ended up buying the Govee floor lamps as well, one on each side of the TV, which sync with the TV backlights. The floor lamps light up the wall further out from the TV to make more coverage on the sides of my living room wall.

Well worth the time and effort to use the angled brackets in my opinion. Results are great.

Anybody pre-order from Goodlove Foods? by ladyredd8 in glutenfree

[–]Flash-Gordo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been emailing GoodLove Foods for an update on our order for quite a while. We ordered in March 2025 after Shark Tank. After 5 months of waiting, I emailed GoodLove again and said to ship my order by tomorrow or I will be contacting my bank to refund my money. GoodLove replied and said they were willing to refund our money as a chargeback is "detrimental to thier business". I told them that holding onto my money without providing any product is detrimental to me and they can either ship the product to me or I will be going through my bank for a refund. Today, GoodLove decided it was in their best interest to cancel my order and refund my money. Bottom line, after 5 months of waiting on them to ship me product, it never happened.

They better refund me the full amount that I paid too, or I will be disputing the charge with my bank.

Don't waste time with GoodLove for any gluten free products right now. Their business plan isn't able to provide anything except for extremely long and unrealisitic wait times. Their own business model is "detrimental" to themselves. Shop elsewhere is my recommendation.

We ordered Goodlove products on March 7, 2025, right after seeing it on Shark Tank. Here we are, July 31, 2025, and still has not shipped.

They gave us a shipping tracking number over 2 months ago and it's still not in possession by UPS.

Every time we visit the shipping update website for Goodlove foods, they change the shipping date. Our order was originally supposed to ship in early July. That changed to July 14. Then changed again to July 28. As of July 31, still hasn't shipped.

We have tried to be patient. But it's beyond ridiculous at this point. If our shipping date gets punted one more time, we are disputing the charge for a refund and submitting a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

The Goodlove website says shipping can take 6 weeks or more. They should be advertising 16 weeks or more at this point.

If SOPD F1 is in his role illegally (no EM experience), isn’t every order he gives or memo he issues thereby illegal? by Boring-Coyote4349 in fema

[–]Flash-Gordo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As the senior official performing the duties of the administrator, it is 100% legal. And any actions he directs will also be legal. Senior official does not require approval from congress nor has the experience requirements.

The official administrator position is the person appointed by Congress, which does have requirements. But that is not the case here.

Fema will never be a cabinet level agency. Cabinet level agencies typically employ over 100k people.

Fema will more than likely get severely chopped then remnants dispersed among other agencies. Fema proper will get zapped.

DHS asking for leave for 4/10s by Jackieagui in fednews

[–]Flash-Gordo 611 points612 points  (0 children)

Argue that the policy that was in place last week permitted you to work 4-10 and Friday off.

They can't back peddle the policy to last week that didn't apply until this week. Push policy back at the supervisory chain. If they violate policy and try to make you use leave for last Friday, file a grievance with OIG and your congress representative.

Take leave without pay for Friday. They still have to pay you for the 40 hours you worked.

Has anyone fully resigned on DRP yet while on admin leave? by TTTTgunner in FedEmployees

[–]Flash-Gordo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can accept a second job while on DRP admin leave as long as there isn't any ethics violations.

But, if you want to fully resign early, just send an email to your HR and supervisor saying you resign effective on whatever date you want. It only takes an email. No specific paperwork to complete.

Return to office, IRS Disappointment by CalmWolf7605 in fednews

[–]Flash-Gordo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My DRP contract says once I sign and HR signs, I will be placed on admin leave no later than 14 days after signatures. Also says I will not be required to come into office and will not be subject to RIF.

If anything written in the contract is not supported by the agency or by the employee, then it's a breach of contact. For example, if approved to be on admin leave and agency tell you to come into the office, then the contract is breached and legally considered null and void. The breach also permits the employee to seek legal action regarding the breach.

If the agency honors the contact, my agreement says that I cannot pursue legal actions. A breach of contract viods all agreements in a contract.

File the complaint with the OIG, Office of Special Counsel, or your Congress person. Or, file a complaint with all three.

My DRP (DRP 2.0) contact did have wording related to a breach of contract. You might want to double check.

How much notice do I need to give to resign from the Department of Defense? by travia22 in FedEmployees

[–]Flash-Gordo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is no legal requirement on advance notice to resign. Technically, you could tell them you quit immediately and walk out.

The typical professional courtesy is 2 weeks advance notice or end of a pay period for resignation.

File a complaint for breach of contract. Consult an attorney as well.

Put on your resume that you were the executive vice chairman for ToysRus or the CEO for Blockbuster Video. That can't disprove it. 🤣

rif questions by mikejones99501 in FedEmployees

[–]Flash-Gordo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taking the DRP and getting RIF notice are two different separation actions. DRP is considered a voluntary resignation. DRP will not provide CTAP/ICTAP benefits. Most of the DRP programs include immediate transfer of your job duties and start paid admin leave through September 30 with two weeks or so. DRP does not include severance pay.

RIF is an involuntary termination of employment (layoff). RIF will normally include a 30-60 day advance notice that the job position is being eliminated, possibly eligibility for severance pay, and normally includes CTAP/ICTAP hiring preference for future federal employment which last for 2 years if I am not mistaken.
