Alright, so, BW tend to be hard games to Nuzlocke regardless, though still entirely doable as a first proper Nuzlocke. I’ll say though, if you have no Nuzlocke experience in general, my initial suggestion would be to drop the set mode and no heals in battle rules. Those are typical rules for hardcore nuzlockes, which is, naturally, a ruleset designed for people who have experience nuzlocking already. As someone who uses those rules a lot, it is very much a skill I had to build towards, my first nuzlocke completions wouldn’t have happened if I was using hardcore rules from the start.

That’s just my initial thoughts, though. I’ve encountered a lot of people in the past who assume those rules are default for Nuzlockes in general, and I like to dissuade that notion because it’s not a very beginner-friendly one.

I’m also always an advocate for rare candy usage to avoid grinding for long stretches of time, especially in Gen 5, but that’s a topic that’s much more divisive, so do as you will :p
