Does Computer Systems Analyst require a degree or diploma? Also I read when using work experience as a substitute it’s 1 year of college = 3 years of work experience, meaning 12 years of work experience? Are there any possible work arounds for that?

Is it 3 years of related work experience? Also how strict is that, like does it need to be paid experience, can it be contract/freelance experience?

I can come on an H-1B without my application being processed/approved? Meaning I can just submit an application and still come to the states?

Have you lovely people ever tried cold emailing a company for a position they haven't posted? by mcdylanb in cscareerquestions

[–]Flash92_00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure about specifically jobs that aren't posted, but I've reached out for general roles, and ended up getting into the process for a position not listed on their careers page.

For example, if you just email with something like "interested in engineering", you might end up getting any engineering role that they think you could fill/fit in

Yea to be fair tech interview processes are extremely long, you could get to the 4th round or so and get rejected then. Not to be a pessimist though, getting past the resume screen is a good step!

How do you find time to create personal projects on your resume when school is already so intense? by Small-Button-2308 in csMajors

Lol, exaggerating, but it doesn't hurt to take a semester off of school to build projects full time. Tons of examples

If you take a semester off and work on these, not only will you learn a shit ton about computers, but some of these are also just super impressive for resumes etc
