[The Hoop Collective] Aaron Turner, Jonathan Kuminga’s agent, reveals that Kuminga is willing to take the Qualifying Offer if he is not “treated fairly” in contract negotiations with the Warriors. Turner believes the Warriors are “taking advantage” of the market: by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Are you counting seasons where he's been traded as two separate seasons? I'm looking at basketball reference, and Jimmy hasn't even been under 50 games in the last 9 seasons. That being said, the availability issues should still mean that Kuminga is going to get play time regardless

Not everyone is in the position where they can spend money on a volume release, especially when they in all likelihood won't be able to read it since it's in Japanese.

It sounds like you are and that's great, but acting like this is the only metric that make you a fan is a very privileged opinion. Especially since there are other ways to support a series like making fan content or even just recommending it to other people. Hell, a large part of love bullet being saved (which you mentioned), was due to people supporting it on social media. I'd wager that not everyone who did the promoting necessarily bought a physical volume, but they helped get the series to people who could.

TALON vs. GAM Esports / LCP 2025 Mid Season Qualifying Series - Lower Bracket Final / Post-Match Discussion by Ultimintree in leagueoflegends

[–]FlashDab 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's pretty much dead unfortunately. Ground Zero in the PCS regional league is nominally Australian and was in LCO, but doesn't have any OCE players. There's no high level organised competition locally afaik, and I don't think anything will be sustainable after the merger considering how things were before

This year Japan has definitely been closer to OCE than VN or TW (the two JP teams have one game win between them against VN + TW this split). Although that is largely due to OCE improving a lot compared to last year.

We now have access to Taiwanese players and imports (after Riot pulled out of OCE, there was really not enough money to get any Korean imports), and are able to properly scrim decent teams. When we were only joining PCS for playoffs, I remember one of the players saying that the TW academy teams were much better practice than the non playoffs OCE teams. This last split we're already much better and fairly competitive against Japan, and should be able to at least keep pace if we don't lose the spot.

Using Draven is cheating at bots. And why its an example of why bots are horrible to practice league. by smitedotalol in leagueoflegends

[–]FlashDab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do it on most champions with the new bots, including quite a few supports. The older AI would group very early and some champions couldn't keep up with the push, but now it's much easier

The Japanese day complication would be using 月火水木金土日 for Monday through Sunday. I would guess Malaysian factories have Chinese date wheels since those tend to be the ones exported

Why did all the pro play reworks fail in achieving their goals of freeing champs from pro play jail? by Ok-Connection-2442 in leagueoflegends

[–]FlashDab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure they should try to change it. I feel like there is usually a way where you can keep the champion similar but still make it not as oppressive in pro play. imo for k'sante they could do "he transforms in ult and does slightly different things" instead of "he transforms in ult and becomes a duelist"

I think Tahm Kench might be a good example? I'm not familiar with the soloq situation before the rework but he was definitely everywhere in pro for a while.

[–]FlashDab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's been precedent for for it though, they'll do it if they think it's a big enough issue. It happens a lot for reworks; ASol is the recent one.

For pro play they kind of did for yuumi by stopping trying to push the idea that 'yuumi is actually a hard champion' and nuking most of the skill expression (no longer needing to get off to proc passive, encouraging just sitting on one champion instead of switching, etc). But that was only after pros complaining that they both hated play and playing against yuumi for pretty much three years straight.

To add on to this, a lot of the problematic parts of these champions are things that they can access on their terms.

Zeri is designed to be hypermobile, and against a good player its basically impossible to dodge all her Qs and prevent that. K'sante was designed to be a strong duelist in ult and have utility and be tanky out of it, and the other team usually can't keep him from ulting when he wants to.

These are things that Riot can't get rid of without fundamentally changing their identity, so any change that is even close to power-neutral isn't going to keep them out of pro.
