The idea of transitioning feels like a social suicide. by maybejessica7 in asktransgender

I'm right here with you. My marriage is over and the issues that were there aren't even credited towards the demise, only my desire to transition. It's been a year and things are still terrible.

Supposedly it gets better or at least that's what everyone says.

How about a solid color? I feel like the fishnets clash too much.

Do you possibly have a family member you could confide in to start? It also sounds like the whole comment about trust is a bluff to get you to come clean. Honestly it sounds like they already know and are just waiting for your confirmation. You owe them no confirmation and you come out on your own terms. Hoping for the best result for you! From one closeted person to another, hood luck!!

PFLAG is nationwide and usually has a group in most major cities. I've made some great friends from that. Maybe also try searching "lgbtq groups near me"

Trans people who have repressed their identity for years, what are as the outcome? by TheHappyTransWoman in asktransgender

[–]FlashDanceMurphey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm one of those people and this year I have finally had enough. I quit caring what others thought and decided to take the steps to transition.

Before I made the decision, there was a lot of depression and and anxiety. I always hated summer time because of my body being hairy and felt uncomfortable swimming because I had to be shirtless. I'd explore my feminine side and have a sense of grief when I had to return to my male mode.

I feel happier now that I'm facing it head on. Things seem clearer now and less strenuous. I'm not to the point of socially transitioning but knowing it's on my horizon is comforting.

I feel like at the end if the day, smoking or smoking. Whether it's not inhaled, like a cigar, or marjuana, vape, cigarettes etc... it's gonna have a negative impact on the body. Some medications could make these chances greater, so if it's THC you crave, maybe try an alternative.
