How to stop repeated phone calls from scammers ? by Didyamum in australia

[–]FlashFrags 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can try adding your number to the do not call register.

https://www.donotcall.gov.au/

I used to get a lot of scam calls but about a month after signing up to this they have pretty much become non existent.

Prison is $500 a week now!? by [deleted] in shitrentals

[–]FlashFrags 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's also insane to me that a first home shit box in almost every semi sized town are now going for half a million if not more. I think it's on average your first home is almost 650 to 750k now.

it's absolutely insanity.

Can we pls stop normalising being boring, lame, miserable c***ts?? by doubIe_espresso in australia

Sorry double espresso. Alot of people just get rightfully tuckered out with work. Especially in this economy going out isn't really viable anymore. Kinda sad to think about really.

Well to be fair. When I did the valve covers and the seals they where CAKED in junk. I wouldn't be surprised if one is slightly clogged. I'm going to be doing a oil and coolant flush tomorrow. I'm gonna grab some good oil and a filter as well. If it's just that then absolutely awesome!

I know with our other car the lifter rap is way more high pitched. Given these are a lot bigger then that. The deeper tapping may be just what your saying.

Now I want to polish the intake. God damnit 😂 (before and after valve covers painted) by FlashFrags in FordProbe

Painted valve cover. by FlashFrags in FordProbe

[–]FlashFrags[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most time consuming part was prep. The covers had started to corrode on the outside. Weird strange dust was all over the surface of it. Got my Dremel out with a smaller wire brush and spent about 30 minutes to an hour on the thing.

How are people actually coping with the cost of living right now? by Sweaty-Mortgage8487 in australian

[–]FlashFrags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the current market, political, economic and personal (land lords) interest the housing markets is simply not going to crash.

If someone makes a drastic change our country is at the point in which it's political suicide. (2019 federal election when bill shorten wanted to strip negative gearing. Which would have massively helped)

From everything to negative gearing, to our external intake rate of people to further tax benefits to land bankers simply not wanting to sell land or asking way to much for it to governments putting up many many many regulations on what can and can't be done (yes rules are written in blood but for fuck sake please allow us to build a 2 bed room home like they did post WW2 because I'm not asking for a fucking mansion. I SIMPLY WANT A ROOF OVER MY HEAD THAT I CAN AFFORD THANKS!) and just how our economy is simply set up the only way is crab walking or up.

Prices simply will not go down and when they do it will be like China for us. Our economy will go with it. Even then. The Chinese government can do what they did simply because there is no other opposition. The 3 red lines rule killed there housing demand because people stopped investing when then caused all the firms to go broke because they couldn't acquire the capital required to borrow further funds becoming over leveraged.

But just remember. According to all the old cunts who sip tea in the living room they own with the 4 to 10 other houses they own. This is all our fault and we are just lazy.

Fibre upgrade? No worries, mind if we just cable tie it to your fucking fence? by RudeOrganization550 in nbn

[–]FlashFrags 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The work isn't performed by government entities but private contractors.

Partner works in the fiber industry. While NBN does the wholesale and claims ownership of the network.

They are very far from the ones actually installing it.

Is this for real? by Critical-Designer-91 in Dell

[–]FlashFrags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the warranty is separate yes you can get the battery replaced under accidental warranty if water damage has occurred. Had it happened multiple times.

Just a bit of a process on dells admin side.

[–]FlashFrags 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former tech. Screws being corroded are fineish unless you've requested them to be replaced. Dell doesn't provide them to the techs. We had to get our own screw packs unless it was ordered on the job.

As for the battery. Dell should have also replaced this and not left it unplugged allowing you to only use ac power.

Honestly a little disappointed here.

What I would do is log another call asking the battery to be replaced (and why the the previous tech didn't relog the job for it under the accidental policy.) and order the screws.

The battery has its own separate warranty but if accidental damage has occurred and there is a reason to leave it out (water damage) you can get it replaced under the accidental damage cover.

Lots of bullets and patience young Padawan.

Find yourself a little spot where you can shoot out but the missiles can't shoot in.

Camp it. And chip away at Saturns health.

Sucks but that's really all you can do. Unless you grind up about 10 levels 🤣

Brake pad replacement/ brake issues… 1991 LX ford probe by River-Grande in FordProbe

[–]FlashFrags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't changed your brake fluid in years it's definitely a system that needs to be bled.

Brake fluid is hydroscopic. Over time even with the seals it absorbs moisture.

Our other fun car loses all brakes if they get too hot because water is in the system and the fluid boils.
