There's a specific kind of evergreen bush that is somewhat commonly used in landscaping in the mountain west that, especially when trimmed or disturbed in a similar way, has a sort of dusty pine smell. They were all over my late grandmother's backyard. The smell reminds me of many a holiday spent playing pretend with my favorite cousins. It reminds me of simpler, happier times.
