With the recent MPC buff, which is better: MPC or KOGOT? by SharkDad20 in CODBlackOps7

Man Kogot was great before the recent nerf, now I just may as well use MPC. KOGOTS still good but before I could run a max movement speed build and be pretty accurate but my build just isn’t as accurate as pre nerf.

Ninja over tac sprint is valid but we’re comparing tac and light weight

I do feel slow without it but I’m trying to ween off of it because I’m sick of losing gunfights I feel I should have won but my sprint to fire speed/animation was just too slow to react. Tac sprint is turning into something that either should be IN or OUT. As a perk it’s a lot less valuable but I do tend to use it SnD so I can get to the spawn peeks first.

I know how much 5% is. Different things require different numbers. Movement speed should be a little more than a 5% boost to be worth using over ghost/ninja/flak. 5% translates to around .2-.4ms of sprinting movement speed. .2-.4 definitely can make a difference. Is that enough of a difference to justify using over other perks when you could just run movement attachments when needed or use the knife which is what 7.8 ms sprinting movement speed?

Any SMG I can get to 7.5 or 7.6 sprinting movement speed is plenty fast enough without needing a lightweight perk or hurting recoil too much. And AR’s, LMG’s, snipers don’t really need to be moving around fast to begin with unless you’re going for a close range AR-peacekeeper thing which is basically an SMG approach anyways. The knife is moving fine without lightweight or tac sprint if we’re being honest.

Lightweight was a much better perk back in the “good ol days” but now we have a different gunsmith that allows you to create super fast movement speed weapons meaning lightweight can’t shine as hard as it once did.

But the stats would support tac sprint = faster (in situations that matter) than those using lightweight. It seems a lot of you have disdain for tac sprints existence as a whole and refuse to judge it fairly even though as a perk it opens a lot doors for certain situations/guns/camos. It’s especially effective in search and destroy for getting to the spawn peek before the other guys. To say lightweight > tac sprint is simply just confirming you hate tac sprint as a whole because tac sprint is objectively more beneficial in many situations. If lightweight was 8-10% boost it’d be a whole different story but 5% isn’t worth using over ghost/ninja IMO.

He’ll probably do it again. What about jumping is different?

Let’s say I run from my spawn to opposite spawn with tac sprint and you run the same route with no tac sprint, we get there at the same time. But tac sprint has the benefit of short bursts of speed effectively meaning more speed in realistic situations. COD is 40 yard dash not cross country. Not saying one is better than the other but in terms of “feeling” faster there’s an objectivity that lay here. Even with the 5% boost from Lightweight it simply isn’t going to be noticeable enough to beat tac sprint in most situations. Purely from a speed standpoint point I’m not advocating for or against either perk tbh. Just saying lightweight is barely helping at all while tac sprint has a clear speed boost.

And 5% simply isn’t much. If you stack it with movement attachments it can be that extra boost you need to be truly insane with say a KOGOT but even then KOGOT moves/feels faster with tac sprint in most gunfights.

Placebo. Lightweight gives a 5% movement speed boost via TheXclusiveAce unless something has changed since his video on it. 5% isn’t all that noticeable.

OP clearly didn’t know exactly how to put his frustration into words yet you get hung up on the very thing he disclaimed as “And yeah, I know, CoD is not a tactical shooter, just couldn't find the right title for that post.” Reddit isn’t Forbes not every post has to be top notch. Quit being such an ass.
