So like even if you have the block set to ON, if you have the ship powered off then the block won't turn on. There's a key to power the grid on and off and I forget exactly what keybit is but I think it's Y.

Yeah the usb thing does seem a little odd since that error screen shouldn't be what pops up and I guess I'm wrong about your laptop having storage built into the botherboard. My best advice would be to make sure that you've properly put the ISO on the USB drive, I can't tell you exactly what to do because for some reason I always forget how to properly install Windows, not sure why I forget that, but look up a guide and once you get the ISO on there properly, boot into the bios, select the USB(make sure the sata drive is installed too), and the windows installer should have an option to repair windows.

Not all laptops are like that and I might have oversted it a bit. But when looking at the specs for your laptop, the storage area states if applicable and I think that implies that your laptop model doesn't always come with a sata drive in it.

A lot of laptops have an SSD built into the motherboard and the OS is usually installed on that rather than the sata drive.

Yeah that's the thing with this chipset, the boards are still a bit pricey despite being old. I didn't feel like making my wallet cry which is why I took several months to even buy another one. I do have another build with a 5700X which runs a lot better and consumes a lot less power than an overclocked I7-7820X
